  • Frightened and dirty baby orangutan held captive by locals is rescued. another sad story of a baby orangutan held captive as a pet, fortunately in this case he was rescued. The chances are great for this beautiful animal to return to the wild. Orangutans are not pets.

Wrong. In fact there was a program stating that they miscounted by thousands when originally saying how many were left. It was on television because the sanctuaries were trying to claim them as successful releases and when the number far exceeded the amount in sanctuaries, they started a research program to follow up the dramatic difference in numbers and found the initial count was way off.😒😔😞🤑🤑😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣

Why do people try and keep them as pets when all they’re going to do is trap them in a tiny box? I notice with a lot of these cases that the illegal “pet” owners never make any attempt to domesticate them, they just confine them to a small space and feed them a tiny amount of food, often inappropriate food like junk food. Do they keep them to sell them later? Because there’s never any serious attempt to turn them into a pet.
Either way, I’m so glad to see there’s so many good people in the world, thank you for rescuing these beautiful animals 🙏✨

It is not afraid of people, not sickly or thin and if that was the box it slept in, it wasn't even enclosed so it could get out any time it wanted to. So, for that you want people arrested?? and charged with what? What if the people who were keeping it just found it and were trying to take care of it?? It didn't act like it was abused. How about getting facts before talking about arrest??🤔😯😬🤪🤪🤪😂😂🤣🤣

Knowing how loving and dedicated the mama orangutans are tells the experts and rescuers that the mothers are dead. Usually beaten to death w clubs and machetes as their babies cling to them which is obviously immensely traumatic to the babies.
They are murdered so their babies can be stolen and sold.
These animals are so incredibly intelligent and gentle. They absolutely have feelings and ideas.
As if habitat loss wasn't enough there are these callous murderers further endangering these amazing creatures, these people of the forest.
It is heartbreaking to know that for every baby saved there is a missing mama most likely murdered.

Who is going to rescue him from you guys keeping him as your pet? We rescue orangutans from being peoples pets and make it our pet. Pretending to teach them to live in the wild is a pipe dream since they are the easiest animal to domesticate in the world and they are impossible to un-domesticate! Its fine with me its their best interest because they live almost TWICE as long on average then wild orangutans and it is because they are happier! The only reasons they are not allowed as pets is so the sanctuaries can have the monopoly on them. Making millions off of each baby orangutan rather then selling it as a pet tourist wouldn't pay tens of thousands each to travel there to see them. TV show contracts would not be offered and donations would not be rolling in if anyone could have an orangutans as long they took care of it properly all its life! So they made inclusive. God made animals for all of man kind to enjoy not just a handful of sanctuary workers.
