Without TEGG we would never have Lorna shore, brand of sacrifice, distant, the poetic Edda EP. It’s a GOATed album that doesn’t get enough praise. It’s the peak of deathcore and nothing will ever come close to it. Nothing can outshock it nor outplay it

Extreme Music swallows my Aggression and I think a lot of people are Like me. Listening to Infant on my way Home from Work and chilling with my Cat watching BS is calming.
There was a study done on the calming affects of aggressive/extreme music on certain types of people. I am one of them as well.
Still watching your stuff. Absolutely love seeing someone talk about the genres and the era of music I grew up with. I know you do mostly deathcore, but seeing some of the extreme death bands from the time covered would be amazing. Necrophagist, The Faceless, etc.

I know some of the MySpace era bands you talk about don’t have much available info in terms of bio’s, behind the music, or details about them posted publicly in general aside from what they choose to post themselves. I can tell you are a ride or die fan who has been following these artists closely for years, which is a rare niche that I’m glad you’re having success with. It’s nice to learn about the bands I grew up listening to. Many Kudo from Idaho. Would love a “the faceless” vid :) I once asked them on a MySpace message if my deathcore band was good, and they only replied “NARF”.

I love infants first album. And I like them even with their new stuff. With that said, because of them this new trend of post deathcore like Lorna doing vocal Olympics, not having actual breakdowns, etc mostly stems from bands wanting to emulate, one up, or sound like them 😞 only infant could do it and still keep the essence of deathcore.

I think I remember seeing in an interview that Dan Watson actually recorded the vocals for the IA album during his lunch break at work in the break room.
I also thought it interesting that Alex Teyen featured on the album and later went on to start Black Tongue with Eddie and Aaron

The Palpable Leprosy of Pollution and The Elysian Grandeval Galèriarch are two of the best deathcore albums to come out in the past ten years

IA was what got me into Deathcore... and their videos remind me of the weird sense of humor that was prevalent in my friend group late teens.
Love the content Yan. I interviewed Dan a while back and got his side on leaving the band and stuff. He was super pressed for time during the recording process and would do it inbetween shifts.

They're my all time favorite band, and when they aren't insanely vulgar, Dickie can be a phenomenal lyricist. Look at The Battle of Yaldabaoth (the song, not the album).

IA has always been one of ny favourite bands. Not only for the absolute comedy of the music videos (😂) but also for the absolute demon like vocals from Watson and Dickie. No matter what happens to them in the future, I'll always respect where yhey came from and what they have become. IA has definitely changed the course of technical death metal and deathcore music all together. I'm also a huge Lorna Shore fan so I absolutely love deathcore and therefore i checked these guys out in 2013 and i haven't regretted it since 🤟🤘 (and the Pray for Plagues cover music video will always make me respect them more from the absolute weirdness of it)
don't know if anybody else has noticed this, but me and a few other people have. there seems to be new restrictions on IA's music on spotify. usually when you search a song on spotify, it allows you to play it and autogenerates a playlist for the song. well, not for IA anymore! if i search a song of their's, there is no autogenerated playlist, and you can't play the song. you have to go to IA's page or add them to your own playlist to listen to them

TBOY is a proper masterpiece. I was pretty late on the IA train but from start to finish that album absolutely rips. I totally agree with your point that it is more of a brutal tech death album.
Infant annihilator is one of the fist few deathcore bands I listened to and I love it. I didn’t know much about them but learning more about some of the bands makes you think how far they are now.
I knew dickie when he was in the band dealey plaza, he lived near me here in Florida! He also took over vocal duty for Abiotic after ray left. He killed it live for Abiotic!! The dude is on another level vocally!

Been listening to them ever since youtube recommended the Decap MV and man, i haven't fucked with a song like that in a while. And then i noticed that the album released just a few days ago by then. Instantly bought the physical copy and some merch. Still listen to all 3 albums almost daily.

Would love to see a fourth album. Kinda. It’s so very rare for me that a band has more than 3 good albums. Total opinion but in my experience; slipknot, Emmure, killswitch engage, born of Osiris, and so many others only have 3 good albums. Then they get sober (good for them or whatever) and the music seems to suffer. On a positive note a few bands do manage to have more than 3 like System of a Down, parkway drive, and black dahlia but in some ways these are the goats of their respective genres/ generations. Hopefully infant annihilator can achieve that status. I look forward to see.
Watching decapitation Fornication when it came out made me laugh and respect metal music even more. Because it wasn't some generic video done in a warehouse, forest, house, or field somewhere.
I work with reptiles. That includes venomous snakes and large monitors so I'm already considered the crazy snake guy but when someone walks into my hot room and sees cobras and rattlesnakes with Infant Annihilator blasting in the background that settles it. I'm definitely the crazy snake guy lmao.
