Actually, no nobody "overcomes their disability", that is not a thing, in fact unless we are all still in the bushes using tree leaves, what they are overcoming is the ableist stigma while charting a path to a more fairly accessible world to them like it is accessible and enabling to the typical person, which is actually a thing, ie one person is, few people are, and it is inspiring, he is inspiring, but good as this is, uplifting to the mainstream as this may be, that should not distract from the growing gaps in society, the millions who are out there behind the wall of stigma being told to "overcome their disability" like that is a thing.

Nothing is wrong with enjoying a little dark humor, it's actually a major coping mechanism. When I crack a witty joke about my own mental illness I don't expect pity, it's an invitation to lighten the mood. Dark humor is part of being human.
Just say you don't enjoy it, rather then invite people to disagree with you - I actually chuckled a couple of times.
