    I dont rely on my homeschool curriculum to teach my son about the Word of God. I incorporate that into our program, but find it unrealistic to expect a math or language arts curriculum to teach the fundamentals of salvation. Additionally, with so many views and doctrines within the Christian faith, whose doctrine should be intertwined with such curricula? I'm thankful for TGATB weaving in godly principles throughout the basic curricula they offer. Frankly, I dont trust any curriculum to teach my child about the Bible. As a believer, that is my husband's and my responsibility. Ephesians 6:4; Deuteronomy 6:6-7; Proverbs 22:6; Deuteronomy 4:9-10; Isaiah 38:19.
    God bless you.

      Can you recommend TGATB? My daughter goes to a co-op on Thursdays that follows My Father's World and I'm just wondering if TGATB would work around a schedule like that? Thank you, God bless you

    I’m sooo thankful I stumbled across your channel! This is our first year homeschooling (6th and k4) our kids were in Christian private school that used Abeka so we continued with Abeka thinking it would make a smoother transition. Abeka isn’t bad but it is very classroom heavy and with my type of personality it is very hard to cut out unnecessary or busy work so I have been trying to decided on what curriculum I’d like to use next year. We have switch to teaching textbooks for math but everytime I feel like I’ve made a decision to change something up I revert back to sticking with Abeka in fear that I’m making a wrong decision. I have sooo little confidence choosing curriculum, there is so much out there, so many different learning styles it can be overwhelming. People ask what type of learners I have .. I always have, I always respond with “traditional, textbooks, tests, quizzes, etc”. Now I’m trying to determine if that’s how I feel because that’s all we’ve ever known or if that is truly what’s best for us. My 6th grader is a wonderful student, very diligent, will do anything I put in front of here which can make things easier but also harder in a way when deciding what direction to go. All that just to say I’m thankful for your videos!!! Most importantly that you are thorough on Christ centered curriculum!! God bless ♥️

      That is so very lovely. Thank you for taking the time to comment and tell me about what you're struggling with and feeling. Be encouraged. The first year of homeschooling is usually the hardest. It's when you're figuring out a whole bunch of stuff! So if you can get through that then you'll know what worked and what didn't and things should get better as you tweak and change. God bless you dear mama!

      There are textbooks too? I always thought teachers just put together lessons. I've done all my schooling in India and we had state-wide text books for every subject. Just grab and go. No need for extra workbooks or any thing at all

    • @howtohomeschool
      @howtohomeschool  Před 6 měsíci

      Yes. I thought I'd review it soon. I've looked at the curriculum closely and wrote a blog about it. The booklist seems good. It gets 4 out of 5 stars on Amazon which is pretty good. But, in the end it's just a big PDF. So pobaby not fascinating, but good if you want an affordable program, give it a go :) Read the reviews here: www.amazon.com/Robinson-Self-Teaching-Home-School-Curriculum/product-reviews/B000SHZCLM

    Great video, all the good info in less than 15 minutes!
    Do you have a video on BJU online?
    Please, a review on Monarch! I’m looking at both BJU online and monarch for my upcoming 5th grader. I want her working independently, with a solid education that is biblical. I will have little time to go over every lesson in detail to make sure she understood the material and/or read thoroughly. Basically I need a program that would not allow her to move on unless she really did the work. Right now I have to sit with her or completely go over the material to make sure she did it herself (not looked at previous lessons for answers) and understood the lesson or reading.

    Hey! I just came across your channel and I'm looking to start homeschooling my 3 boys aged 7, 11, and 14 this upcoming school year. We are a low-income family and I'm looking for a curriculum/subscription that is affordable and that I can use with my 3 children. What options do you suggest considering I'm a beginner at homeschooling. I want an option that is easy to follow through for the parent and the child. It's overwhelming for me to pick one because there are so many options. I would greatly appreciate your help! Thanks in advance.

    Easy Peasy uses mostly secular websites for science and history. The only thing that makes it Christian is that they have a Bible reading plan. Everything else is very secular. Any leads on affordable, biblical-world view science for the upper grades? Everything for middle school and high school is super expensive and affordable options are very secular.

    • @howtohomeschool
      @howtohomeschool  Před 8 měsíci

      Yes, you're right. Such as Khan Academy etc. Schoolhouse Teachers might be a good option...have you looked at them? Otherwise Apologia is very good and quite affordable. I honestly LOVE Compass Classroom, but it's on the mid-ground affordability-wise. What's your budget?

    • @genabrady1348
      @genabrady1348 Před 8 měsíci

      @@howtohomeschool Less than $100 per high school level course. So that rules out Apologia. Compass Classroom is affordable if you account for the fact that a subscription gives you unlimited classes for the entire year, but they only have two science courses. Online learning doesn't work for my oldest so that really makes it a lot more difficult. The cheapest I've been able to find is Master Books. It's fine, but I really only use their stuff because it's the only option.

    Looking to homeschool my 4 younger kids 3,4,11&13. Will be focusing on grade levels 6th&7th for my young adults. Our oldest 2 are 18&19 and have graduated/will graduate last year and this year from public school. I didn't have success homeschooling our oldest 2 previously but I'm ready now for the younger ones. Im really wanting something without propaganda and wokeism, but not really wanting too much bible thumping 😅
    I love the bible, but the curriculum is sometimes too much if you know what I mean

      Hey there. It's a bit tricky.
      I would get a Christian one.
      Choose one and I'll tell you how heavy on Bible it is. (Generations is VERY Bible heavy; Memoria Press not so much; ST isn't too heavy, but it really depends on who wrote the particular course).

    • @howtohomeschool
      @howtohomeschool  Před 8 měsíci +32

      Thanks so much for your comment. Christian Curriculum for homeschooling has been around far longer than secular ones. I know and prefer these more. I have reviewed a few secular ones but I just can't like them. They seem to take the heart and soul out of what I'm trying to do with my kids. My parents Christian homeschooled me and I'm so glad they did. Jesus is everything to me. That shines through in what I value as the best. Because, while religion may have its many weaknesses, Jesus has none. Have you read about Jesus in the Bible before? In private reading?

      @@howtohomeschool Please stop. You will not convert me. I have read the bible. And I 100% promise I understand it better than you do.
      It just seems you can't handle learning; if it doesn't have a religious spin. God I hated church growing. I won't be going back to such boring, repetitive, and uninspired nonsense. The exact same bull crap regulated over and over again.
      My parents also had a a thing once a week: Where the family would sit and read the bible. It sucked so much. I really hated it.
      And like the bible suggested. I asked the internet. For how too home school. It suggested I needed to find a good program. Then I looked for the best programs. And your video showed up. And Honestly I wasn't impressed.
      But you really should change your title. As it is all about religious homeschools. And I found much better videos then yours. That rated some of the ones you listed in the top 10. But none of them were all 100% religious like yours.
      They were better at giving me a idea of what to expect; When using them. Or how to use them. Your video was more about the authors and crap. Useless info I could care less for. It doesn't matter if the author is great and what not. Is his book good? And what makes it good? List some pros and cons.
      You just seemed to praise it for being more aligned with your religious Ideas. And your way of teaching. That's it. And this video was pretty much a waste of my time.
