Overberg Exploration | Kromrivier Farm - Camping and 4x4-ing

We recently got invited to join the 4wd Puzzlers on a weekend getaway to Kromrivier Farm.

Krom Rivier Guest Farm is 217km from Cape Town, between Greyton and Riviersonderend. It is a working farm with a variety of accommodations and activity options to choose from. You get a beautiful large campsite with ablutions and a shared common area. The Shed and Oak Lodge share the same grass patch, each able to sleep a large group of people. These two spots share ablutions and a donkey-fired jacuzzi. These options do not have electricity and are the more rustic options.
For a more luxurious stay, you get the Trout Cabin and Morado Cabin. These two private cabins come with luxuries like wifi and electricity while keeping the rustic feel. All the above mentions accommodations have beautiful views over the landscape this area has to offer.
There are a variety of activities on this farm as well. Fishing, hiking, mountain biking and then the 4x4 route. We took on the 4x4 route with the 4wd Puzzlers. The route is not too difficult, however, the slippery surface and steep angles make it a tough track. Searching for traction and using the right lines on the slippery surface is what makes it a technical track in my opinion. Low-Range would be highly advised, but diff-lock is not a necessity.
Once again, thank you to the 4wd Puzzerls for the invite and it was great meeting fellow adventurers. It was a great winter getaway and I really need to explore the Overberg region more, it is absolutely beautiful out there!
