    Southern Upland Way - Britain's Most Remote Waymarked Trail
    Hello everybody, I'm back again with another unplanned long-distanced backpack on Britain's most remote waymarked trail the Southern Upland Way in Scotland. Join me on trail as I discover what's out there in Britain's only official coast to coast route and one of Scotland's Great Trails!
    I start out in scorching temperatures as I walk along the coast and then inland on this 212m - 347km long isolated lonely route across the Southern Uplands...

The finger post with a little metal label stamped Aultrea (The Way) indicates there is a hoard with a Waymerk somewhere in that area. Enough said and look forward to the next episode. Well done Snowy.

      It's a tough long lonely walk the Southern Upland Way but I would do it again in a heartbeat! I think in this set of videos I've tried to give an honest account of it. I know a lot of people give up on this trail because of its isolation, huge distances between facilities and its long road and forest track walking but I like a challenge! Good luck if you take it on atb 👍🍺🍺

    Good to see you on the trail, again, Snowy. The beginning looks like there's no monotony on the trail. Maybe there are no views (yet) but I had impression that the terrain is changing quite often. Lack of water is something to take into consideration, but if there are cows there must a water nearby. Thanks for sharing your experience. Looking forward to the continuation. Seb.

    • @snowymatrix
      @snowymatrix  Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks Seb, yeah the beginning of the walk involves a lot of road walking after the coast is left behind. Nice one Ceri and Kat! I have shown my face a few times on video I just don't watch outdoor videos where the camera never leaves the person's face and I can't see the landscape. 😁 Cows are a law onto themselves especially the young "teenage" cows who almost always get in your face and try to intimidate you in my experience. I remind them I'm top of the food chain not them!😉 On this trip I had a pincer movement preformed on me by those teenaged trouble makers. I got it on video and it will be in a later episode. The trail is very well waymarked but I hope the organisation provide the runners with a lot of water stations! You'll need it. There's also a lot of road and forest track to negotiate too. Lot's of rolling upland hills at 45 degrees and one hill which is nearly vertical to walk or run up. Hope that helps it's a great trail with fantastic varried landscapes to contend with👍🍺🙂
