Mahatma gandhi wanted no division , but he gave in to threats, intimidation and violence and killings.
Mahatma Gandhi also wanted to dissolve and fold congress party , after independence - but that did not happen. It is now the responsibility of INDIANS to show the path of exit to congress party , which follows religious , divide and rule policies and divisive agenda on all possible ways.

We are different people, we Indians and Pakistanis, as far as present times are concerned. What people think of the past is irrelevant. Past is history. It must stay as history. People say history repeats itself. But when and if it does, I will not be there, hopefully.

What Hindus need to learn from history from Indian history and from their relationship with Muslims is simple..
Think of Islam as a Siamese twin..the twins being politics and religion.
There was a reluctant acceptance of Islam among Hindus ..for many a reason.
The first primary reason is that Hindus see it as 'just another mode of worship' let us make peace with it..let us ignore the politics of Islam....

I wasnt comparing the veil with undergarments, u missed the point. Actually, I was referring to the idea that there are different standards for men and women in every society. For instance, you won't get fined if you decide to go shirtless during summer ... but a woman? No... You see, 2 different standards... And some women are complaining about it! I was relating this to Saudi where the standard for a woman is to wear a veil and for men it happens to be something else.
