We LOVED our time in Vang Vieng, surrounded by countless limestone mountains, it’s the best place to go on nature & outdoor activities, explore blue lagoons, and caves, go on hikes, and more!
Once renowned for its lively parties, Vang Vieng gained fame among backpackers for its wild river tubing scene. Although it's calmer now, the scenic Nam Song River still offers ideal spots for tubing or kayaking. The true highlight of Vang Vieng is its breathtaking limestone formations, providing some of the most stunning views in Laos. Don't miss the incredible viewpoints, even if it means braving the intense heat to reach them. We experienced some of the best hikes here, rewarded with spectacular vistas of the surrounding landscapes. Renting a motorbike allowed us to explore the area thoroughly, including the turquoise lagoons and nearby caves. Your days can be packed with thrilling activities, ending with peaceful strolls through beautiful rice fields at sunset. If you love nature, Vang Vieng is a must-visit on your Laos itinerary.
