As a native I generally reject the California bashing that is so popular these days, but the high prices are real. It's not just Disney. I actually find the food prices at Disney comparable to eating out pretty much anywhere here in the Bay Area. One can easily pay $18 for a glass of wine at an average restaurant.

Excited to watch this whole thing. Don't get me wrong, WDW is home and we love the Epcot festivals, but EVERYONE should get out to DCA for one of these. The food is just so different and amazing and worth checking out.

You see Tom, in the 16th Century there was a popular book called The Adventures of Esplandián, which involved (among other things) a magical land called "California" that was ruled over by Queen Calafia (Cal-ah-fee-ah). So when they discovered Baja... They named the region after the place in the book.

I think the camera work leaves a LOT to be desired, but I don’t mind you two doing reviews. You need to show the plates, not as much your faces. Get a small tripod to hold the camera/phone. You guys definitely won’t go down as great “influencers”, but you’re doing the best you can, and I appreciate you. Thanks for sharing your views.

As a WDW local, I'm so jealous (well except the let-down of a prize for the scavenger hunt). Do you think the festival is worth a special trip? Do they do any other events like WDW used to - chef demos, wine tastings, special dinners etc.?

Where I live $18 is a normal price for a cocktail. I hate it.

I think the Central/South American area needs a better naming convention because Latin is so insanely vague. Like, Argentina and Cuba are both considered Latin, yet the people/cultures have nothing in common besides language.

The food prices at DL and WDW are just completely insane lately. Who the hell is paying for a $14 baked potato? $38 for a slice of steak or whatever is insanity as well. I don't get how it's possibly sustainable and how it's even acceptable to charge that much.
That’s how it it there, getting a hat and sunglasses almost came out to $50 with the tax but luckily a discount made it a little better
I live in a very rural area and $38 is around the price range for steaks at nicer restaurants near me. To me at least it feels like Disney prices are surprisingly low compared to other places like Six Flags.
Yes I was thinking the same thing, Epcot festivals are overpriced, but at least most of the items cost six or seven bucks. Most of the stuff at Disneyland is more than twice as expensive. How in the world would you eat all of that? It would be over $1000
@charliemacsart The difference is a restaurant like that doesn't give you a sliver of steak. Disneyland is giving you essentially two bites and a slice of bread for $38.
