    I feel for you. Great reaction.
    Why didn't Rhaenys escape? She couldn't. She was here on the Queen's orders and was the only chance for the little castle. It would have been fatal if she had simply run away and all the other allies would then know that Rhaenyra's dragonriders would rather save their own skins than fight the war they had started.
    But be proud of Rhaenys and Meleys. Meleys has decimated the army of Criston and she has seriously wounded Vhagar. Her death was not in vain.

    If Rhaenyra cared about that prophecy like she should, then she wouldn’t withhold that from the Greens. So if she dies and her sons die, what? She’s cool with that prophecy being lost and dooming the realm? It isn’t the duty of her line.. that doesn’t matter it’s from the line of Aegon the conquerer himself. All under the name Targaryen but she doesn’t want to share this information which is selfish.
    Jaherys the conciliator knew that.. which is why he called for a vote to see who would succeed him because it didn’t matter who sat the throne only that the realm was United and prepared and the prophecy was passed down.
    Which is exactly what Viserys should have done, naming Rhaneyra was only going to cause a civil war (Which his predecessor wanted to avoid and why Rhaneys wasn’t given the crown) Viserys was selfish in naming Rhaenyra because he wanted to throne to pass down his line and Rhaenyra shares that same selfishness. It shouldn’t matter who’s on the throne only that whoever that is unites the realm. She plunged the realm into war, she made sure the prophecy was lost by the time of the original Game of Thrones and a lot of people died.
    Rhaneyra and Viserys are Pure selfishness and stupidity. Neither should have been given the throne. They doomed the realm.

    • @ambybambiboo
      @ambybambiboo  Před 2 měsíci

      Viserys wasn’t selfish in wanting the throne to pass down his line. His son Aegon is his line too. He believed that it was through Rhaenyra this prophecy would be fulfilled because he saw that she would make the best leader.
      There would have never been a civil war had the greens not plotted against Rhaenyra. Aegon didn’t want the crown and was perfectly content to let Rhaenyra have it. If the greens and blacks stayed united then Rhaenyra could have ruled rather peacefully because every dragon in the realm would have been on her side. There’s no way others would have risen up against her, and if they had it would have been stopped rather quickly.
      I agree that it was selfishness that tore the realm apart. But it was the selfishness of men. Misogyny doomed the realm.

      There is a reason in human history why males are prioritized for the throne.

    rhaeneys attacked in the hopes of injuring vagar in hopes another black dragon can finish her off. (Meleys is one of the oldest and strongest dragons) or kill her or maybe kill aemond so vhagar would be riderless and out of the picture, she is more experienced at the end of the day Meleys was too injured to have made it very far & Rhaenys would have never abandoned Meleys even for the sake of her own safety. That last look they gave before turning back to fight Vhaegar again was a mutual acknowledgement they were going down together. Makes that whole moment that much more heartbreaking. Also abandoning their Ally wouldn't leave a good message about rhaneyras claim

    If a male employer uses his position and authority to seduce a chaste female employee and she's bitter about it twenty years later, would you hate her as much as you do Cole? I think not. Cole's a victim. Rhaenyra's victim, and I'm here for his chaos.

    • @ambybambiboo
      @ambybambiboo  Před 2 měsíci +1

      He’s not a victim. He begged her to run away with him then got his feelings hurt when she said no. If he actually cared about his oath like he claimed, he wouldn’t have been banging Alicent weeks after her husband died.

      @@ambybambibooHe cared back then. His vows were already broken by the time Alicent took him under his wing. I don't think he feels he has much to lose at this point by doing it. Keep in mind, breaking your Kingsguard vows is something punishable by torture, castration, banishment to the wall or death. It's not like only his feelings got hurt.
      He felt like eloping with her and running off to Essos would redeem him in a small way. She refused and that's why he's so bitter about it.

    • @ulquiorracifer5493
      @ulquiorracifer5493 Před 2 měsíci +3

      @krissuyx Let's also not forget Rhaenyra is responsible for his appointment to the kingsguard. She is a princess, and has power over him.
      If Criston isn't a victim of his superior taking advantage, then every woman who's ever been taken advantage of by a male superior is not a victim either. Those actresses Harvey Weinstein took advantage of aren't victims. Monica Lewinsky isn't a victim of Bill Clinton. Either everyone is a victim, or no one is.
      As to him sleeping with Alicent, I agree with your point, it's moot because when Rhaenyra rejected his marriage proposal, she destroyed any possibility of him regaining his honor, so what's another sexual partner in that case? And lastly, victims of assault sometimes express it throughout hypersexuality/lack of sexual discretion. Cole is the textbook definition of a sexual assault victim. But hey, all people see is a bitter man.

As far as I'm concerned, what the men at the council advised their queen in the show were not unreasonable when you're part of side in a civil war and have already blockaded your enemy's capitol of by sea...
