This is one of my favorite Kpelleh Songs. I am not Kpelleh but I have a great connection with Kpelleh people. This song almost got my brothers and myself in trouble. We were traveling for a program by road, from Philadelphia to Kansas and while driving, we just started playing some Liberian traditional gospel songs. When we started this Kpelleh song, we were so excited. Everyone of us were dancing to the sound of the music and singing along. Just then, some white guys drove near our car and saw the excitement but didn't know what was going on. Few minutes later, we heard the police serene and we were pulled over. The cops asked us to identify ourselves and wanted to know what was going on. Praise be to God that the cops allowed us to continue our journey, when they realized that we were Christians and just dancing to our traditional gospel song. Since that day in 2018, I have never stopped loving this song. Thanks to the composer of this song for reminding us about our relationship with God.
I don't speak that language but the melody takes me back home its make me cry. I feel lonely anytime I listen to that song. I miss my people so much. Long live to Kpelle
