Let me just say, I used to go to church daily when I was younger. As I grew up, not so much. I felt like I couldn't connect with anything. My mind and my heart were going in two different directions. I was worried about everything except what I was supposed to be going for which is God's word. I was conflicted to say the least. Don't get me wrong, I love traditional gospel but it was music like this that got my attention. I hear the beat, then the words rang out and I could relate. You hear commenters talking about how this is not "of God" but this is what got me back in the church. I found a church home that was willing to accept me, flaws and all, and who listened to and understood the meaning of this new contemporary gospel. So, for me, the message rang out loud and clear. People are different and everybody responds to music differently. People should just stop making a fuss over others people's lives.
I know what u mean..and there is nothing wrong with that. But u must understand this, as a young woman myself I am learning that not everything we say is God, really is. So many of these jazz gospel, rnb gospel, rap gospel blah blah is not always 100% pure. We as humans do not like to fully conform to the word of God. We want to still be able to do things of this world BUT to not be judged about it we slap on God's name on it. In the bible David played the harp and he was able to cast out demons. It's not about the lyrics..or the track or the wardrobe..it's about truly praising God so that others can be touched, reached or healed. This doesn't show that in any way. Honestly it doesn't look no different than any other hip hop or rnb video out there now. And when a person who is not of God listens to this, are they receiving the message? My opinion 😊

I'm 43 and I love a little bit of everything, especially Rap, R&B, Jazz, and Gospel. I love the fact that Erica Campbell wants to appeal to a younger Demographic, and I consider myself young at heart, but I so consider myself an old soul, because I'm into old school music from the 50's to the 2000's.
It's good to see them still together & in love. But I'm not sure abt this type of music. @@alluretrena3057 first of all we need to define what Praise and worship means according to the word of God. From my understanding of Gods Word praising and worshipping God is more than saying words that have the phrases ' praise' and ' worship' in it but a lifestyle. Jesus said now is the time when people will not worship on this mountain but worship that is in spirit and Truth. Worship from the heart is what God desires from us. It is not about style or rhythm but the intention. That is why Jesus rebuked the Pharisees in Matt 15:8-9 when he told them their worship was in vain because it was all lip service and done out of a sense of duty following the commandments of men. The Bible says in whatever we do it should be for the Glory of God , our gifts and talents should be used to bring him honour and to me that is what the song is about. Everyone cannot be singing hymns or negro spirituals because we are all not gifted the same. Just because a song doesn't suit your taste in music doesn't make it less spiritual or less Gospel. Let God be the judge. Above all worship him in your life as you go about your own business in your sector whatever that is because that is what living for God is all about and which we are all called to be. God bless 😊
