I recorded the guitars and bass myself, and programmed the drums and synthesizer with midi. Below you can find a list of the equipment I used.
I didn't use any tabs and learned the different parts by ear.
Some notes on the arrangement: I decided to record the song as they played it live. Therefore, during the verse, on the right side (Die) you hear the riff played with a 6-string guitar tuned in Drop-D, and on the left side (Kaoru) you hear the riff played with a 7-string guitar tuned in A-D-A-D-G-B-E. However, on the album version of the song, it sounds like they recorded four guitar tracks for the main verse: the riff with power chords on a 6-string guitar on both the left and right sides, and layered on top of that, the riff with only the low A string, also on the left and right sides of the mix. Since I'm playing Die's track in the video, I thought it would feel weird to hear the dominant riff with the low A string while watching someone play a 6-string guitar. For the chorus, I stuck to the album version and layered four guitar tracks to get that "larger than life" feel and sound.
