In similar circumstances, I would cower in fear and humiliation. The fact that she comes on national television to expose the defendant for what he did to her is not only commendable, but to do so with such courage, dignity, and poise is truly remarkable. Rooting for you ma’am, you’re amazing 🙏

I didn't know this would be considered a civil matter; thought it was a crime. I respect her for standing up for her dignity. He is disgusting, a cheater, and I bet he has done this to other women.
I believe now where she lives (Alabama) it's now a felony to post revenge porn but at the time it wasn't law.
Thing is if she doesn’t have enough evidence for him to be found guilty, than going the civil route is the next best thing. You don’t need guilty beyond a reasonable doubt for civil, but you do for criminal, and she likely doesn’t have enough evidence for criminal.

It’s no different than giving consent for a photographer to take pictures of you (for a wedding, graduation, etc). The client still has to give consent for their likeness to be posted online. Same thing happened to me but I was a minor (16) at the time and the person who humiliated me was 18 and he actually recorded me without my prior knowledge or consent. The amount of emotional distress he caused lasted throughout my whole senior year and I found out the next year that he would show guys in class while they were all sitting at the table behind me. I have a daughter now and when she’s high school age we will have a talk about safe sex, consent, and her options for if or when someone breaches her privacy and trust. I regret not coming forward and letting my mom handle it because we never talked about sex and I was embarrassed. But my daughter will know that she does not need to keep her head down and her earbuds in like I did. If the parents of these boys won’t teach their sons morals, then they will learn the hard way and suffer the ramifications of their thoughtless actions.

@@robertgray6310 Local court is usually SWAMPED with cases and could sometime take YEARS. The court shows usually invite the people on to their show by having producers go through actual court cases.
Plaintiffs with legitimate cases choose to go on these shows becuase it is usually faster than 'regular' court, and if they win their case, they are pretty much guaranteed to receive their losses.
Too many people use shame to silence women into not speaking up. And I think it was good she went on TV, too many faceless scums get away with being trash. Now ppl can see his face. Proud of her!

We're only human, and sometimes we make poor choices, but that doesn't excuse the actions of others.
