- Hey folks, Halloween 2022 not even passed yet and I'm here with a 2023 Department 56 Halloween Snow Village Preview!
Department 56 recently released their Halloween line-up to dealers, and those immediately showed up online....so let's talk about it! It looks like a very promising year! Let's talk about the Kraken House, Castle Calvaria and more!

Corn creeper is a must for me, I have a whole separate pumpkin patch/corn maze set up.
I don't have any department 56 yet. But there are several things I want in this group. Especially some of these accessories. Thanks for sharing this. I can't wait 🎃

That Corn Creeper is AWESOME!
I hope they have 25th anniversary pieces. Dept 56 Halloween Village is 25 years old next year. I have all the older pieces and now collect what I think looks cool. The Kraken House will go well with many older pieces they had, "the Makings for a Morbid Evening, " and "Ship of Sea Phantoms". Many pieces this year seem to be Pirate or Nautical theme. Older pieces like "Monsters of the Deep" and the "Spooky Schooner" and the "Spooky Lighthouse" will do well with them. Castle Blackstone is awesome with fiber optic trees and sound.
Love your passion for these products.

This is a really fun year so far with D56! I would guess Lemax will start teasing things soon!
I was doing a decent job resisting D56 the last few years, but I will not be able to stop myself from so many of these ok probably all of them. Love the silhouettes they’ve been doing. I do wish they had someone driving the Homecoming float. I was sort of hoping this might be a series. BUT I cannot wait for the Taco truck in the food truck series. #Tacosrock
That homecoming float piece seems like it's more a harvest piece than halloween! And yes, the taco truck is cool!
Lemax is really going to bring it because I see a LOT of my budget having to go to these d56 pieces this year

After looking at you video, I think that the tree is probably similar to one that they did for Christmas this year. It looks like it is a sparkly purple (instead of green like the Christmas one) and has spotlights to illuminate it and make it sparkle. So kind of a repaint and has added Halloween elements.

I like that corn creeper, so freaky-looking, would look good with my little corn maze. But I'm taken with the castle...though it's a little dark and creepy. I'm not sure where I'd put it, maybe in the back part of the enchanted forest I make with my witch houses. The castle's starkness seems like some dark place in Romania or something, and the skeletons on the trees remind me of stories of Vlad the Impaler.
The creeper is the best! I can't wait to add him! I'm with you on the Castle ideas!

Is that village idiots episode about the 2022 buildings of the year still coming? I can’t wait if it is. Thanks anyway for all your videos this season it was really great. I got the clocksmith piece and the lost pumpkin crypt for my display this year but unfortunately the clocksmith one was all broken in the box when I opened it and the season is pretty much over so I don’t think I can replace it

Does anyone know what month Dept 56 is available for preorder? Very excited to get my hands on some of these new pieces like the corn creeper, Kraken House, and "udderly unbelievable" would look great flying above my corn maze. Thank you for the vid and I look forward to your full review.
Typically it’s officially introduced and available for preorder in January.

I know it'd be insanely small, but you ever do 6mm or Z Scale? Could use some cool buildings for Tabletop wargaming.
Well, no, not for village displays per se....but I have tabletop gamed in the past and have dealt with painting that scale. They are a lot of fun! One of my favorite CZcams channel is Boylei Hobbytime and he mainly paints that scale and puts them in dioramas!

Thanks for sharing this early look! I had kind of a weird question. I haven't bought a Department 56 building or lightup accessory since the early 2000's. Most of my collection is Lemax. I love the Lemax x3 Mulit adapters and was wondering if they had any kind of compatibility with Department 56 pieces? Do you have any info on that, obviously not for these new pieces, but for Department 56 pieces you already own?

I would not risk damaging the pieces.
As Odell says, don't try it. I don't believe they are compatible and even if they technically would power it on, any current difference could cause damage.
