    Cricut made it plain this is not for the casual hobbyist. This is for individuals with home businesses that will be using this machine to automate their processes. This is for the person who would have gone out and brought a GraphTec which is in the same price range. This is for the small/home business owner, who will write this off as a business expense.

      Graphtec is a business machine. It is a very nice machine and you can’t compare it with this. In Canada the cost is much higher than the USA. Siser Romeo is a fraction of the cost and a wonderful machine. They also have excellent support. I think Cricut is pricing many things so high for most crafters that you pause and say do I really need this? Also, you can’t cut off the mat on the Venture unless you use Smart Vinyl. If you use scraps, you must use a mat. I never use a mat no matter the size or material without a mat. Thank you for talking about the pluses and negatives. Most people that do videos are influencers and tend to avoid anything negative even when they say they are not influenced. I may have to sign up again. I let my membership lapse.

      @@darlahpotechin1668 GraphTec has several machines at different price point, so yes I can compare it to the Venture, because Cricut created it with professional features for small / home businesses. They were not intentionally targeting the 1 project crafter / hobbist. Which is why their advertisements for this machine shown bulk production of merchandise. They know a lot of boutique home businesses are using their machines to make money/sell products. So hence the pricing adjustment for the AutoPress and Venture. Bottomline, the Venture is clearly not for everybody, which is what Rachel brought out in this video.

      Exactly! I"m looking at getting one for my business. It os not meant for hobbiests. And the fact that the tools are more expensive and not interchangeable with other Cricut machines isn't a problem. Most businesses, such as mine only use it for one function and only need one tool. Mine will only be used for cutting HTV.
      And yes, there are better machines on the market for businesses, but at a higher price point, which are more suitable for higher production volumes or more complex jobs. This is perfect for small businesses that don't need anything fancier.

    My biggest issue with Cricut is their design software. It is cumbersome and hard to navigate. They really should invest money to update it. I have a Cricut Maker, and a Silhouette Cameo and the Silhouette design studio is a dream and offers so much more besides, the Cameo cuts way better than the Maker. I recently ordered the Siser Romeo because I want a larger cutting surface and you can cut without a mat so you don’t need a lot of room also, their design software is amazing, plus, you can cut a 3 inch piece of vinyl without a mat because their step rollers are adjustable. It was only $699. Thank you for your honest review!

  • @mackin800
    @mackin800 Před 11 měsíci +8

    This machin is worth every dollar. It is waaaaaaaay better that the cameo and siser. Weight matters. It does it’s jobs and sits still and moves fast. Furthermore if you have to decide between a credit card and a Cricut machine then you have a problem. The mat cost me 23 dollars. I made my first cut today for cornhole boards and it didn’t disappoint. Also Amazon has many products that fit this machine. If that is the case the other large machines wouldn’t have materials either. The upgrade in tolls are coming. It’s a new machine it needs time. The truth is if you do not need to make large projects then don’t get it. But if you want to cut time and make a large number of cuts at one time then it will work for you. I don’t understand why this channels is stopping people from reaching larger and better goals with Cricut.

      I agree, wholeheartedly. I love to challenge myself with more exciting projects. I just made a full sized Fender Stratocaster guitar model that's now hanging on our wall above the piano. The mats and blades seem to last longer, I've cut numerous intricate images on my light grip mat and I've never had much success with the previous light grip mats. And then, of course, it cuts so fast ! I can load four 12x12 cardstock and speed up the process of projects with many pieces. I can see that this machine, if it took chipboard it would need to be completely redesigned to take the weight of that size chipboard at a 45 degree angle, but I've kept my Maker to do those things. I haven't used it much for vinyl, I'm more of a papercrafter but I played with the matless vinyl and I was impressed. As for size and weight, well the docking stand with wheels makes a lot of difference and it fits into my not so large craft room with no trouble. Take a look at my FB group Cricut clocks and More with Cherry Lynn to see pictures of my guitar.

    What’s not mentioned and should be noted the Cricut Venture is ideal for sewers. Cricut Venture large format is perfect for anyone doing quilt blocks, or patterns for purses, handbags, small children wear, and any other projects that will accommodate your fabric size to fit to cut in the Venture. Too much emphasis is mention on vinyl and card stocks, not enough for those who love to sew. So, absolutely the Cricut Venture is worth every penny and time savings for those who prefer to have their fabric material cut by a machine instead by hand. Yes, it is big but a price to pay for the ability to be versatile for all types of projects, including sewing.

    • @MrsKramper
      @MrsKramper Před 10 měsíci +2

      The only problem is I find cutting with a fabric blade isn’t comparable at all, to cutting with the Cricut rotary tool. Also- by the time you iron on a backing to the material, and get everything set up, I don’t find any time savings.

    • @LouRao
      @LouRao Před 6 měsíci +1

      @@MrsKramper I get what you were saying. Although time savings will depend on what is being cut. True, not all types of fabrics cut well with Cricut. However, many fabric types are not an issue. Of course, if the Venture had the rotary blade, it would make a difference. That is why I invested in the Siser Romeo Cutter too. No, they don’t have a rotary blade yet, but they are working on a beta version at the time of committing to this post. I also feel Siser is outweighing Cricut in so many ways with their new cutters, Romeo and Juliet. So, if a project requires detailed cuts and can be handled by the Cricut, then accuracy is the key. Besides fabrics, Venture is awesome for cutting patterns. Venture with a wide cutting format takes cutting patterns to a new level

    Personally having to use smart vinyl to go mattless is not desirable. I like being able to cut small pieces mattless but Cricut once again ties you into their brand. I should have more wheels to hold down small pieces to cut once again mattless. Plus the cost when the Siser Romeo cuts like a dream and their support is amazing. What are they thinking? The heatpress that was expensive and too small. The light and now this.

The Siser Romeo also has a 24’ width and was only $699. The Silhouette Cameo Pro is also 24” and costs about $500. I would highly recommend going in a different direction because Crisut software is not as easy to navigate and is very basic compared to the other software, I have used all three.
