I have been treated rough by the police once back in the 90's back in Sweden. Guess the reason, I was acting like an idiot and then had a butterfly knife in my pocket even though I told them I had nothing dangerous on me (edit: Hoping they wouldn't find the knife....stupid as one was).

I've had plenty of interactions. I lived in an area, a rural area, where drugs ran rampant. I was thin, and CONSTANTLY on the go. I was working 2 jobs, had 3 kids and was going to school. OF COURSE I was always on the go lol. But, understandably, they assumed it was drugs. I got pulled over ALL THE TIME. its their JOB to profile. We ALL profile people. Did it piss me off? Yes, because it made me late. Did I understand? Of course. What happened? After a while, i KNEW all the cops. I can still call in favors because I didn't act like an idiot and didnt make it worse for them or me. I never went to jail and there were times I should have because I disnt have insurance, but they let me go because I was TRYING to make life better for me and my kids. They can see that if u let them.
Jessica Langford I agree completely. If I saw a black man with his pants sagging and a bandana on his head doing a crip walk down the street what am I supposed to think. He could be a Harvard graduate that rescues kittens and funds an orphanage but my initial impression will be affected by his appearance and how he carries himself. It wouldn’t be until I spoke to him that I would have a better read on him. It goes the same for cops. If you look thugged out then cops are gonna pay you more attention. But I believe if you spoke with respect and civility then the cops would more than likely say thank you for your time and have a nice day. Great Video! When I was a kid, like all kids, I pretended and aspired to be a cop. Many of those kids became police, swearing to serve and protect. I am grateful for their service and protection. Any alternative to the police is either mob rule, fascism, or mafia. How about we don't defund the only thing protecting us.
My neighbor is in law enforcement and yesterday out of the blue I text him and gave him praise. I told him with all the negativity it may be good to hear from a citizen some good news and that they are appreciated.
We need more police spokesmen in every city and state to stand up in this manner. They'd be surprised how many civilians stand in their favor, and appreciate the protection we get and peace of mind to sleep safely at night.

I was so happy when that video came out, it was everything I wanted to say but I didn't wanna get clowned by every single person I know.
My wife and I (no, we are not wealthy) bought lunch for our city's police department on Thursday. You can't even imagine how grateful they were. We also organized a large group of people to go, in force to two police departments, to thank them for their service. All the kids of the families that joined us made pictures and paintings for them and we gave them all gift cards for coffee and snacks. Met the chief of police and again, they were so grateful to get support from their community.
I'm not saying this to virtue signal, but rather to inspire others to do similar things to show support. If I can afford to do it and work to organize it, so can you!

As I was coming home with a very heavy load of groceries, I saw police officers at my apt complex,. They saw me and I cannot believe that they helped me carry my heavy load into my apt! As our mayor and council members is wanting to defund our Police, I think about my brother, as a Tucson Police officer, working hard every day, to the point of exhaustion some days, truly trying very hard to serve and protect the people of Tucson. During the protests here, he had to stand and take the truly vile things that were said to him, evil vile comments! He’s not had a pay raise in 5 years, but the mayor and council members gave themselves raises! I will fight hard to support our police officers!!

My son and my husband are both police officers... my husband now works investigations... my son just the other night was dispatched to go to an elderly man’s house who’s wife has dementia. He called to request that an officer come help him try to convince his wife that she was home... he went over and spent 2 HOURS trying everything he could think of to console the little old man and help him convince his wife she was home... he didn’t leave that call until she was back in bed and the little man’s nerves were calm... this is the heart beat of so many of our officers... it burns me up that some devil put on the same type of uniform as my son and husband and misused the authority given to him as that officer in Minneapolis... he is a disgrace to the uniform and there’s not one thing he could ever say that would change what my eyes watched him do... his evil actions put my son and my husbands life in danger... but the rioting over justice is ridiculous because the evil officer is in J A I L??? Which only means they’re not out for justice they’re acting like a pack of wolves looking for an opportunity to devour... the whole thing stinks like a landfill and rebellion is making its way to the top... as a wise man of God once said..
