Hi Durianrider, beautiful Canondales road bikes. I just got my 2016 GT PRO Series 2 back from a tune-up. Just put on some Specialized TURBO PRO T5 tires.
Fed up with over-priced, disc brake-equipped carbon nonsense that offers nothing unique, last year i bought a CAAD 5 frameset (Saeco livery; cherry red, similar to DurianRider's shown here) on eBay for about US$700 in my size. I built her up with top-shelf components (Campag Record groupset; Campag Bora Ultra 35s; Alanera integrated stem/handlebars); Look KEO titanium ceramic pedals. With pedals and cages got the weight down to 15.1 pounds. Bike is gorgeous to look at; light and lively; and a total racer, you can dive into corners with total confidence, and it's fantastic riding out of the saddle.

I started riding road bikes this year, built up a badass 2015 tcr slr rim brake with mavics. I love that once jersey Harley wish I could find one. Thanks for putting me onto this badass rim brake bikes.
I bought a 28.7 mm wide carbon wheelset for my rim brake bike and they fit very well. With the 25mm Conti GP5000, TPU tube and 80 PSI the comfort is awesome in comparison with my previous RS30 Wheelset, 23mm tyre and 115 PSI. Best investment for me.
I saw a lad riding to work on a 2019 super six evo hi mod.Think it was the last rim brake they did.Lovely bike.Had a look on eBay and they are still pushing £2k and upwards.Wish I had kept my old supersix evo..oh well 😢

Big fan and have been watching your vids for a while. I have a question about a CAAD 8 I just picked up. It has a 2cm long dent that’s about 0.3cm deep on the underside of the top tube in the middle. The bike is lacquered aluminum with wormy corrosion marks all around. One of those wormy marks is in the dent area. Would you ride this bike? I’m just getting into cycling and won’t be pushing it extremely hard. I really appreciate your expertise and opinion! Thanks, I hope you see this.

Please could you address Nutrition by Victoria pushing a fruit and non-starchy veg diet only? She's now turned on the white rice and sugar, saying starch and sugar doesn't result in weight loss according to some quack's book she's read.. She's also claiming that Freelee got skinny on fully raw and by excluding starches, not by doing rt4. She's saying that you and Natasha are only lean because you're "lean types" and she's a fat storer. It is disappointing to see somebody so fully absorbed in their orthorexia that they forget the audience. The audience is so confused. Nobody wants to do a raw diet, man. I like that you've been consistent with your message - it's for people who live in the real world and who have busy social and professional lives.
We are ALL fat types.

I got FL skinny on fruit, starches and sugars. Same diet FL still eats today because it always works 💯

Yeah I noticed she was saying that in her latest vid and was disappointed. Thats why Harley is the GOAT. Made his protocols simple and easy to follow.

what's your take on those octalink spline v1 BB's / cranks? I have a Trek 5200 that has them and when I look up the prices of the parts I'm tempted to just sell off the cranks and BB and install newer hollowtech cranks & bb.

Howsit Harley. Im lookingbat picking up mavics with the exalith coating. If I cant find those pads are there an alternative that I can use?
I use any pad on alloy rims.

Do you downsize your bike to cut weight?
Definitely helps BUT not if it affects your ability to push watts.

Just had a CAD 4 built up with a Kenekt dual pivot suspension stem, and a cheap beat-box seat post, it is still pretty light, and I'm liking it bettter than my carbon fiber bike with 28c on it. It turned out to be a a solid,smooth/fast ride, a Roubaix on a budget.
You can't deny the benefits of the wind tunnel nowadays at least with aero frames imo.
Then they put disc brakes and wide rims/tires on there lol aka mini parachutes at road race speeds.
Big contact patch = more resistance.
If you believe the data they sell you then yeah…. Bikes should be 20 mins faster over 40km because 20 years ago they used the 1 minute faster over 40km at 40kph!
@@durianriders I just think in certain situations I would rather have the wider rims/tires and maybe other times not. I know how you feel about all of the new tech, but some of it does have benefits I see both sides of it so I dig both the old school and new stuff.
