  • Do Jews, Muslims, and Christians Worship the Same God? | Ask Redeemer
To describe God accurately is to describe God in ways that match Him. Jews, Muslims, and Christians describe God in different ways. We can't all be right because we contradict each other on fundamental realities about God that we believe are true. At the end of the day, we do not worship the same God.

Quran 5:44 Indeed, We sent down the Torah, in which was guidance and light. The prophets who submitted [to Allah] judged by it for the Jews, as did the rabbis and scholars by that with which they were entrusted of the Scripture of Allah, and they were witnesses thereto. So do not fear the people but fear Me, and do not exchange My verses for a small price [i.e., worldly gain]. And whoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed - then it is those who are the disbelievers.
Quran 4:163 Indeed, We have sent revelation to you O Prophet, as We sent revelation to Noah and the prophets after him. We also sent revelation to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and his descendants, as well as Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and Solomon. And to David We gave the Psalms.

That's very good, clear and simple. However
1- The concept of three in one is of course far from simple and no one has yet explained that satisfactorily.
2-- The only evidence you gave for the Trinity being a teaching of Jesus is in the passage known as the Great Commission where, in his appearance after crucifixion, Jesus is reported as saying “go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit"
3- This passage appears only in the Gospel of Matthew at 28:19-20
4- The Gospel attributed to Matthew is based on that attributed to Mark. There is no post crucifixion appearance of Jesus in the oldest manuscript, the Sinai Codex of Mark. This adds to the doubt over the authenticity of the Great Commission
5- There is no evidence in any part of the NT that any of the disciples baptized as the supposed verse commands. So either Jesus did not give the Great Commission or, if he did, then his followers decided to disobey the command of "baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:"
6- Jesus does not talk about the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost together in other places
7- There is nothing more clear about Jesus' view of God than his unambiguous declaration at John 17:3 that the Father is "they ONLY true God"

      1. It is a mystery of the faith which can be understood to a degree however is ultimately beyond our full comprehension as God is transcendent and eternal, by his very nature beyond our understanding.
      2. The trinity is also supported by virtually the entire gospel of John, "before Abraham was I am", "I and the father are one", "in the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God... and the word was made flesh". Throughout all gospels Jesus refers to himself as the messiah and son of man of which he has a unique relationship with the father. Furthermore is Jesus did not claim to be God than the blasphemy charges brought against him by the Sanhedrin make no sense, claiming to be the messiah isn't blasphemy however claiming to be God is.
      3. answered in previous.
      4. There are, however, post crucifixion appearances in the other gospels which are also extremely reliable, to the degree of 99% as Mark is. Furthermore Pauls letter's constantly talk about Jesus Christ being raised bodily, these are dated within 20-30 years of Jesus' resurrection, an incredible feat for a ancient text. Atheist-agnostic NT scholar Bart Erhman even admits that no essential Christian doctrine is affected by what little significant textual variance there exists, this includes the trinity.
      5. This is an irrelevant and poor argument from silence, the only book this would appear is in acts which is full of baptisms however does not directly mention the words said at baptism, this doesn't mean the apostles didn't say them it just means they did not record them in the account. This is irrelevant as there is a ridiculous amount of evidence in the NT that Jesus claimed to be God and that this relationship is identical to that understood in the doctrine of the trinity.
      6. another argument from silence, he likely did it just wasn't recorded in the gospels of which had to cover a 3 year ministry in a short account.
      7. Funny you quote John's gospel when it begins by stating clearly and unambiguously that Jesus Christ is co-eternal with the father and is God become flesh. Moreover the entire gospel of John is full of Jesus' claims of divinity and evidence for the trinity. This verse is accurate, the trinity also teaches there is one God, the father is fully God so it is appropriate to say "that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent". Also if you read one sentence down you would see that Christ ends this by saying "And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began." Lol can you read?
It is overwhelmingly clear that the trinity is a true reflection of the doctrine taught by the most holy Jesus Christ in the four gospel accounts of his life , death and resurrection. Also, church history exists, may want to look into that too.

      1. Doesn’t invalidate what I said.
      2. If to teach the Trinity is to teach that the one God is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit then your post does not invalidate my point.
      3. This point stands too. The so called Great Commission, if it ever happened, is mentioned only in Matthew at 28:19-20
      4. This does not invalidate my comment. I have reservations over the new points you’ve added but they're not relevant here.
      5. Yes the Book of “acts ..is full of baptisms” You’ll see baptisms for example in Acts 2:38, 8:16, 10:48, and 19:5. However, it’s not true that it “does not directly mention the words said at baptism” If you check out the verses you’ll see that baptism was actually in the name of Jesus ONLY. In Christian studies we’re told that “The baptismal formula was changed from the name of Jesus Christ to the words Father, Son & Holy Ghost BY THE CATHOLIC CHURCH IN THE SECOND CENTURY.”
      6. It does not invalidate my point about an extremely crucial teaching.
      7. If the Father is the ONLY true God there cannot be any other true God otherwise words don’t mean what they’re saying and language becomes useless. To defend your argument you quote Jesus saying "And now, Father, glorify me” Why would Jesus say that if he was equally God?

You stated that God had to create in order to express his love, I believe that’s heretical. The key word is “had”. The fathers of the church have always taught in sacred history that there is no compulsion in the God. The fact that the Godhead is triune means the members of the trinity love one another with no need for creatures. The mystery is a beyond human comprehension.

Virgin mother son never Adreess himself as "Jesus".
      Do you know that?
      He prayed to God.
What is the name of His God?
      Do you know that?
Raab means Lord, Aaab means Father.
Jesus addressed his God as Raab ( Lord) which was replaced by another hebrew word Aaab ( Father) after time being.
Saint john think that Jesus is son of God which was not teaching of Jesus himself.
Bible was rewritten many times by many ones.
Original scriptures which was given for the children of israel are lost just like lost tribe of Israel.
No prophet in this world worshipped to trinuine God.
Truth is truth though you hate it.
      And yes,
Try to know the truth because it is the matter of salvation in afterlife.
If anyone died as pagan polytheism belief system his density is forever hellfire.
Jesus prayed to his God during the night of crucifixion.
God need not prayed to himself.
What was the name of His God?
      Do you know?
Virgin mother son was a prophet and
Every prophet in this earth worship to 1 Allah.
Early zews distorted the name of god and made it plural form "elohim".
And Christians began to worship Jesus as son of god by Paul's facination.
In 225 AD church father tertullian introduced the doctrine of Trinity.
In 323 AD church adopted the doctrine of trinity in bible.
Arabs didn't invent The name " Allah ".
They inherited this word from prophet Ibrahim and his son prophet ismael who built the Kaaba by order of Allah.
But latterly his descendants forgot the true monotheism teaching of Prophet Ibrahim and associated Allah with different kind of deities.
      That's why,
Almighty Allah again sent His last prophet Muhammad ( peace be upon on him) to His final revelation.
