I have PS CS6 and I couldn't find it at first but I found it. First get your image of the explosion. Then make a copy of that layer. Use the quick selection tool and select the explosion. Then click the layer mask button. Make another selection of the explosion. Then up by the windows and help dropdown at the top there should be a refine edge button. Make sure the mask is selected and use the brush around the edges. I hope that helps. :)

a bit late but you just change the layer to "screen " of lighten =D

Its not technically a white background. Its transparent. In photoshop you can make your transparent background be depicted by white, black, or a grid of some sort.

@@GSDPops I was watching all kinds of vids with the same volume. As soon as I clicked on this video, my ears got destroyed. Obviously I put the volume down afterwards. Point is, the video is too loud relative to most other videos on youtube, meaning people can also click on this vid, and have their ears explode.
