    Everything about those CNA's that you mentioned are SO TRUE! They with all the b.s .I've experienced it ALL ,including bullying . You have a few good ones who are about their business, , and respects the nurse, tho. You certainly have to be built a certain way for this position, or you will get chewed up and spit out 💯💯

    Thanks for the inside scoop. I needed to hear this, and i think i was the one who left the comment about donuts😂😂, but i totally understand what u mean by not doing that and like waiting a few months to bring donuts (Noted). Can you do a few videos of like day in the life videos of you working at some of the facilities if u can , i understand sometimes u can’t record or just don’t have the time sometimes. But thanks again , i graduate next week and I’ll be working at a LTCF and prn at the hospital i already work at.

    I started nursing school because of the cna's i had to work with. I'm a cna transitioning into LPN. I got tired of being the good cna, having to do others work because the other cnas would disappear for hours. And i can't wait to go back for my RN next year

    As a new grad nurse IM NOT trusting cnas to do my vitals, I bought my own cuff & temp equipment & I do it myself.
    I’m not giving a med based off the vitals of any cnas or other nurse honestly, maybe an experienced RN. But in these nursing homes I trust my own & document everything I did !

    • @nursebtv
      @nursebtv  Před 2 měsíci

      Yea I do feel you. Where I’m at the medications are passed by a tech as well so they do their own Vs. When I’m passing I do my on VS when I can but CNAs need experienced lol delegation saves time. Definitely use your own judgement with that tho

    I hear where you are coming from but you are coming off has CNAs are all bad and Nurses are way better , we all know it’s lazy CNas jus as well has Nurses , This cna vs LPN needs to be done with

      I understand wym and I also wish it wasn’t like that. It’s really just the type of thing where you have to do what you have to in leadership. I know some really great cnas and it’s sad the bad ones ruin it for everybody. Please check my new video I hope this helps you or someone you know! New video ⬇️.

      What do the nurses at the Nursing homes you have worked do as far as basic patient care if there are no CNA's (Which i have heard from nurses that at times they dont have techs/cnas) or the facility is short staffed?

  • @kiarajessica799

    Have you ever worked as a cna? Do you think it’s better being an LPN then a cna?? I know lpns have a lot more legal responsibilities, but i’ve been a cna for 4 years and i can’t take it anymore😭 i’m currently in LPN school and im just hoping it’s much better….

    • @nursebtv
      @nursebtv  Před 3 měsíci +2

      Yes I was a CNA 2 years prior to getting my license. LPN is wayyy better you have more responsibilities but you do way less hands on work fr

    How do you chart on 65 patients....insane

    • @nursebtv
      @nursebtv  Před 10 měsíci

      Funny thing is you’ll get used to it. It’s not as much as you think and typically only about 3-10 residents will need “skilled” type charting the others will remains just long term care charting which is minimal

    I applied agency but i’m brand new girl I’m gonna ask to be on a floor that has less residents I need training lots of it. I sent them my resume but they playing around. So an agency hired me with the quickness. Idk if this is a good idea but I will speak up and ask for help all through it.

    • @nursebtv
      @nursebtv  Před 5 měsíci +1

      I don’t think you should start with agency that’s not a good idea at all. You’re gonna be thrown to the wolves and honestly you need to be somewhere to learn and grown

    • @theempressdesha
      @theempressdesha Před 2 měsíci

      @@chiobabe2180 I’m not an agency nurse I work at a skilled nursing facility. I wanna do agency but you gotta learn your skills before being an agency nurse it’s recommended to at least do 6 six months so not yet hun get those skills up!!

    • @theempressdesha
      @theempressdesha Před 2 měsíci

      @@chiobabe2180 i’m 2months in I only work part time I wouldn’t recommend full time. Another new nurse such as myself feels like she lives at the nursing home and doesn’t have time for herself. It’s only been 2 months and I’m ok I’m not quite ready to be floating but i’m gonna have to in order to be more skillful. I have a regular floor I’m assigned so it’s been good. Your preceptor can make or break your experience so if you are not learning try a different approach and let the preceptor know how you prefer to learn. I worked with another lpn as my preceptor and only 1 day with an RN but she was old ready to retire and didn’t have much patience so I definitely had a better experience with the LPN. Eventually I had to be on my own but it’s up to you don’t let the company force you to start passing meds alone. Train until you are comfortable to be on your own. Make sure you discuss that at your interview and clarify if they have a time period of when they want nurses to complete training. They told me training was until I felt comfortable. I know places that will let you train until 3 months. I stayed 2 weeks and then got off training by my 4th week I started picking up hours. The money 💰 is okay. They will try to low ball you but my pay is still because of shift differential but if i didn’t let them low ball I would be in the $40s I’m in the $30s for only evening shifts but my base pay is despicable. I can’t wait till my 6 months or even 3months is over. I signed up with a job that offers bonus pay for staying with them 90 days to 6months and they will pay you out your bonuses. Definitely take advantage of those bonus pay!! It’s not hard but you will be very slow on your first couple of days I’m just now getting my grove but I still ask for help always ask for help when in doubt.
