Wow this early David Russell. Anybody know when this was recorded. I believe that he is one the best performers around. I say that but I have not yet had the oppurtunity to hear him live but I turn to his recordings for all the advice I need. Flawless and he is also a philantropist which is very awesome. I saw him play in 1988 and this was not on the program. Never thought I'd get a chance to see it live. Long live CZcams. (Even if he did screw up the ending a bit....lol).
This is great! I particularly like the end, from 4:04. It is played 'con fuoco', very exciting!

Mertz是一個在浪漫時期，追求新的曲目、新的樂器、巧技的大師。Mertz所使用的樂器，是19世紀維也納很重要的製琴家Stauffer所製作的，為了因應Mertz的需求，Stauffer在原本的吉他上另外增加弦，製作成了10弦的吉他，由於額外的弦是增加在指版之外的，所以只提供低音部分的增加，這和魯特琴的發展相當的類似。
樂曲介紹 ：
Fantaisie Hongroise《匈牙利幻想曲》，是Mertz 參加Makarov吉他創作大賽得獎的作品。Johann Kaspar Mertz日耳曼地區人，出生於斯洛伐克的Bratislava，是義大利作曲家Giuliani的學生；Mertz的夫人Josephine Plantin是位鋼琴家，常與梅爾茲一起演出，所以他的作品吻合了當時浪漫主義的思維，許多的作品和當時的鋼琴語言有類似的地方，Mertz創作的數量頗多，作品多達100首以上，有許多改編成歌劇、民謠，是浪漫時期很重要的吉他作曲家。
