We're talking, of course, about the few lucky souls who get to work at Googleplex, the home of, you guessed it, one of the most important corporations in the world: Google.

The idea of citadels for workers dates back to the beginnning of the '900 (or in some cases, even before). We had in Italy various examples of this attention to the workers quality of life, with major examples from Olivetti and Lanerossi (with Olivetti that ending up converting these ideas into a political program and a party that entered the Parliament). But all the major companies till the '50s-'60s had special programs to provide health and cultural services to the workers families.

2:20 honestly it feels so weird that all of them are using MacBooks but they’re not Microsoft and don’t have a true computer OS like Mac or Windows so it’s understandable.

The reason why there's so much included in the facilities is because the projects can start taking up so much of your time that you can't go home for fear of being fired. They are also salary employees....if it takes 4 days at 15hrs a day it takes 4 days at 15hrs a day OT be damned

No, that's just lies. Google especially is notorious for having a "coasting" culture, where employees work like 20-30hr a week (but paid for full time). I work there. It's *too* chill

@@marcus_b1 No. You are just talking out of your ass and have no experience to back it up (hence why you say "I'm pretty sure"). Are you even in the tech industry at all? Google systematically enables a very chill workplace. You can transfer teams without your manager ever knowing until you have a confirmed transfer, performance rating is done via a committee (not your manager) to ensure the performance rating across the company is similar (not suspectable to a crazy manager that makes you work 100 hours a week for a mediocre rating, unless you choose to do it of course for the highest rating). Reputation of managers literally telling you to leave the office if they see you there past 5:30. Launches and deployments being strictly forbidden company wide during holiday season. You just have 0 clue what you are saying and are talking out of your ass.
In other words it's the complete opposite of iron fisted Facebook 😊

EVERYTHING that the Googleplex has, the Loop also has (and better).
The downside of the Apple Loop is that it isn’t open to the public like Google’s campus is, the Visitor Center is pretty fun though and the cafe and observation deck were pretty nice.
They have very different visions not necessarily better or worse.

Sure looks beautiful but I'd prefer to be HOME. Not get lost in some Google ecosphere where they can keep you for as long as physically possible until the lines between work and personal life become blurred in an effort to extract as much out of every employee as they can get away with. Heaven on earth though? Not at all.
