The Cast & Creators Of "Unbelievable" Speak On The Netflix Series

- When teenager Marie Adler (Kaitlyn Dever) files a police report claiming she's been sexually assaulted by an intruder in her home, the investigating detectives, as well as the people closest to her, come to doubt the truth of her story. Meanwhile, hundreds of miles away, detectives Grace Rasmussen and Karen Duvall (Toni Collette and Merritt Wever) meet while investigating an eerily similar pair of intruder rapes and partner to catch a potential serial rapist. Inspired by the real events in The Marshall Project and ProPublica Pulitzer Prize-winning article, "An Unbelievable Story of Rape," "Unbelievable" is a story of unspeakable trauma, unwavering tenacity, and astounding resilience. Dever, Collette, Wever, Danielle Macdonald and executive producers Susannah Grant, Lisa Cholodenko and Sarah Timberman took the BUILD stage to discuss the Netflix Original series.
BUILD is a live interview series like no other-a chance for fans to sit inches away from some of today’s biggest names in entertainment, tech, fashion and business as they share the stories behind their projects and passions. just watdhed it . First it was viciously WOKE feminist oriented, nothing new from netfart . You handle the whole bla bla cuz Marie have a sexy ass, toes, and face , (apart the rotten nose ) .t he fat cop girl is unbelievably haughty, the other ( Muriel, the movie ) is just a exagerated feminist cop bullshit castrator joke . The guy raped uglies all the years while he can go on shithole place, like Fetlife for example, where you can have willing same dumb daddy issued retards less obese and willing . Overall, 327 years of being ass-wiped by the society is another immature joke hustice . In a true real men society, the rapist would have been forced to work to pay or the girls until he die, or simple impaled alive on a public place . But it would hurts the feeling of some SJW libtards , huh ?
The Merrit's performance (Detective Duvall) was so fucking amazing, she absolutely deserves an Emmy
Really? I thought she was inanimate and bland. I lost count how many times she had her arms crossed in a scene. She's a female detective so your going to go ga ga over her 'thank you very much' Danvers. The young girl playing Marie deserves the praise. Collet was awful as her passive aggressive chracter.
@@ChrisSmith-bw1nt They were both great but Collet might be my favorite performance ever. I can see why someone might think the way you do though she was kind of samey in her performance at times and very subdued, but to me the nuance in her acting depending on who she was talking to sold it hard for me.
Chris Smith she I don’t even think was nominated but screw the emmys we all know that they mean shit Michelle fairly should have won an Emmy for her performance in the red wedding she was robed AF but we still remember we will never forget that scream sane with merrits performance I’ll never forget the way she handled her victim along with Toni I’ll never forget the glory on her face when the detective who handled Marie’s case got it handed to him by women so While I think they where all robbed I think it dose not matter do we even know who won for 2020? I don’t but I know of theses guys performance I’ll never forget ever
@@ChrisSmith-bw1nt I thought Merritt Wever was incredible. I didn't know who she was until this series.....now I'll be watching some of her older roles and will absolutely be looking out for her in the future. I think she deserved an Emmy in this too----if she gets one for Unbelievable, it will be her 3rd Emmy, so obviously, she's exceptionally talented.
If he didn’t take photos, that poor girl would’ve never got justice. That is scary. There must be so many women treated like her, destroyed and never got justice they deserve.
Edit: and men too. victims was probably the right word.
My thoughts exactly.
Like the young girl in that town where they believed the star football player over her and she and her mother finally moved away.
It's so horrible to think that way but it's also so true. If that last part hadn't happened with the photos then Marie would never get closure.
I say survivors, because I'm not a victim
♡
But beautifully put ♡
This show was one of the best things I have seen on screen. The content, its portrayal, the way it was shot - there is sooo much to unpack! I hope it gets the accolades and attention it deserves!
Sai Phatak
One of the best short TV series I have watched this year. Wonderful lead actors. I’d like Merrit and Toni in their own detective show! Agree with you Sai!!
Just saw this in 2023. Watched for Toni Collette and came back a Fan of Kaitlyn
Merritt Wever is a hell of an actor.. she just own her role
Totally agree she was awesome in a Law and Order episode years ago.
Jit Ganguly agree. She’s an incredible actor. Best I’ve seen in years.
Maybe the best actor I've ever seen....ever. I can't think of anyone else. What a legend
I loved her in welcome to marwen
She's so refreshing, so new in a homogenic sea.
Merritt has such a soothing voice oml
I know right, I love her voice!
Yes, she has a very soothing voice!
@Chad shut up
Ya I love her voice
My mom actually said her voice is so kind. Like she sounds like a kind person
We love Merritt Wever, especially when casted alongside a legendary Toni Collette. 😍
Absolute brilliant acting from Merritt and Tony! WOW!
I didn't know Merritt before this series (I am from the UK so she's not well known here), but I love her! She's a very endearing person, she seems very shy and personable which is very refreshing.
Merritt is subtle and strong at the same time. I just love her. Both Toni and her have this strong screen presence. Just binge-watched the series. Loved it.
Merritt Wever, her voice, so calm
@@Samantha-lu6ht She also played in another Netflix series called Lawlessness. A western where all the men were killed and she ended up being the sheriff...really good show.
The series is amazing. Every actor's performance is award-winning.
It always SHOCKS me when someone has an accent and in the show or movie, they remove that accent for an “American accent”. It truly blows my mind every time lol
I literally forget Toni Collette isn't American. I've heard her speak with an american accent more lol
When I told my mom that Toni Collete is actually australian she thought that I was lying
You should watch killing Eve then
It's called acting
Bruh Toni’s American accent was flawless
She is really SUCH a talented actor! I've seen quite a bit of her work, both with her using an American accent and using her natural Australian accent, and I have never seen her slip. I have also never seen her in a role where she didn't nail it.
She has so many tones as well. If you’ve seen the Hours you’ll know.
Australians have flawless American accents
Yo I had no idea she wasn’t American. Amazing acting!
This show had me yelling at the screen and crying the whole way through, absolutely incredible but devastating story
I wanna see an interview with the real life female detectives!
Did you read the article it was based on? www.themarshallproject.org/2015/12/16/an-unbelievable-story-of-rape

@@zurzakne-etra7069 thank u so much! 🙏💕
I just binged this whole show today. As a survivor of sexual assault and rape, it made me feel a sense of relief and hope. It's been 16 years and I still have PTSD and struggles, but seeing a realistic portrayal of not only the victims but the detectives who actually care...got me. I appreciate the respect for this show and for giving people like me a voice. I'm so sad for the ladies this was based on but thrilled they got justice. #metoo
Mindhunter and Unbelievable two best thing on Netflix. Amazing!
FemBot: la casa del papel : really ! Why u say that .
narcos : ok bae
Dark: don’t worry bae
When they see us : ohhh honey please
@@Walid_kah money heist season 3 was unnecessary
vigy I binge watched the first two seasons but I started the 3rd season a couple of months back, haven’t watched it all and don’t think I’ll bother now.... I just don’t care! So yeah, totally agree
@@drummingspain207 I did the same too, they just wanna make more money ,the typical human ambitiousness sets in.
I completed mindhunter yesterday and accidentally came across Unbelievable today (couldn't stop watching so finished watching). I would want to add Capernaum movie to the list :)
I really enjoyed this series. Very well done , acting & directing.
Brilliant well done all involved

Kaitlyn Dever is one of the best actors of this generation. Her performance was brilliant.
In my opinion she was the best in the series loved her!!! And she was great in “Dopesick” too!!!!!!
Best series I have seen this year!👍 Kaitlyn Dever's performance is superb!!
Yes. She is great actor!!
She’s perfect!!!! I love anything she’s in ❤❤❤
Police ladies thankyou so much for saving Marie. Her life would have been soooooo hard if she wasn't able to clean her name. . .I would like to see Maries fake friends find out how nasty low they were as well as her sorry boss and sorry co workers
Why is life so crushingly miserable for some people, you never know when your interacting with someone what they may have been through. This series says alot about the modern world we find ourselves in, its failings and its triumphs. I almost got the sense from watching the 1st two episodes that women have so resigned themselves to the heinous crimes committed against them that they have to think more about how the reporting of a sexual assault will be recieved by police and public alike and not about how they can find support and comfort after such a terrible ordeal.
One thing the police could do to help sexual assault victims when they are gathering evidence and statements is to have the victims testimony audio and visually recorded so they would not have to relive the trauma immediately after the attack.
P.S Fantastic actresses in this series, moving and authentic.
Frequently when a person experiencees horrific trauma it takes time to recall everything as it happened
I can see bad actors involved who will use victims confusion against them, as they did in this case - but with video to malign and discredit victims with their own video’d account
Talk about a mind fck
True though. It’s hard to believe how many people are victims of trauma like this abuse, or domestic abuse. 🥺
I don't know exactly where the quote came from, but I used to work in an adult education program. In every classroom there was a poster on the wall that said, "Be as kind as possible, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle." I usually hate posters with "sayings" on them, but this one spoke to me.
I think one of the other most emotional scenes that didn't come from Marie was when Curtis realised they were looking for Christopher and the whole part of him learning everything that happened. Everyone always thinks how awful it must be for the victims family (and of course it is) but we tend to not think of the culprits family. Imagine learning that your brother raped 6 women over such a long period of time and only just got caught.
His line "you're looking for a birthmark. You're looking for my brother..." really made the scene. It was a very small role but it was played brilliantly.
I’m on the third episode and this show makes me feel short of breath by how fantastic and heartbreaking it is. A flawless production.
For me, there were a lot of special aspects to this that were totally ignored in the interview. I was so strongly affected early on seeing what Marie and Amber had to go through immediately following their attack. The hospitals, the physical exams, the cold environments and protocols. The nurse saying, “here’s a number if you have [insert a long list of side effects, including suicidal ideation].” Having to go back to the apartment. Ugh. So heartbreaking. I loved watching him be manhandled and examined once they took him into custody. It wasn’t justice, and never could be, but it was satisfying.
Kudos to all onstage who took this totally tragic event and made it all about you and theatrics!! You will all be rewarded accordingly. Congratulations.
I thought the show was amazing the acting, the script it’s all there this show deserves way more popularity!
Great series watched with my daughter and wife and am very aware rape is handled so badly in society. This series can teach us all something about the subject. Loved some of the comments about male rape too and the fact that not all men are insensitive from such a strong female group. Outstanding all round well done!
I had a similar situation. I wasn’t sexually assaulted but I was physically assaulted in a public place and had 2 witnesses. Despite this, the officer didn’t believe that I had been touched. He didn’t want to talk to my witnesses. Then the detective who took my case blamed me for pepper spraying my assailant. He told me that my assailant was pressing charges against me for pepper spraying him. The detective didn’t believe me or that I had bruises. All I could think was I hope he doesn’t handle rape cases!
Omg, that's truly awful. Strength to you!
I'm so sorry this happened.
It should not have happened ♡.
Some people try to find feminism everywhere. It's a true story. Those detectives are women in real life. Producers didn'd switched genders of characters. I like these women emphasize several times that's not about gender that's about how you should get serious about your job. Because you can save someone's life or ruin it.
Giving a voice to the real women of this story is feminism, because they (marie) were silenced for so long.
@@panterloart9180 everyone sees what they want to see.
A main theme of the show is rape culture. It's a super feminist show and it's great.
Oh maybe some people don't actually know what feminism is and therefore can't see it.
I thought this series was extremely well-done. From every scene to every character it all played out due to the professionalism of the entire project. I binged" it and will watch it again over the weekend.
True Detective season 4 with Colette and Weaver. Come on HBO, let's go.
Jane Choy dog this was True D S4
I see a lot of love here for Merritt Weaver and Toni Collete and deservedly so they were great. But y’all Kaitlyn Dever’s performance stole the show one of the best acting performances I’ve ever seen and this girl is gonna be one of the next great actresses of this generation for sure. I showed this to my parents last night and my father, who normally doesn’t like these type of shows because they make him angry and uncomfortable, literally made me stay up till nearly 2:30 AM to watch the entire show in one sitting and said that Dever was on hell of an actor. Credit to all 3 actresses they were amazing but put some respect on my girl Kaitlyn’s name in these comments 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
actually Kaitlyn Dever was my favorite from the entire series. ❤❤❤
I am a man but i am not ashamed to say that watching the apathy of Marine Adler made me wanted to cry so bad and whats disgusts me the most is the fact that it actually happened to someone for real.
Same here.
Raised in an orphanage I knew not to report if i was slapped hitbeet robbed or rapped. So i didn't. At 60 I see unbelievable and cryed with joy. Marie let the world know what happens to us every day. Other kids can throw biscuits at you and its ok. ..6 grade fixing to start my perriod Dizzy i walked up the stairs to the back door of enterprise elementary ...saw the glass was broken as i went to knock to late. My hand went right threw the glass. I passed out. I woke in the nurses office. I over heard the nurse telling principle ms. harding not to whip me. My hand was bandaged and i was very dizzy. Ms. Principle harding whipped me . She took me in a room with nothing but a picture of flowers on the floor. Bend over and look at the flowers. I don't recall how many licks i got with the ping pong paddle. Been going to that school 5 years and never got in trouble. I looked up tomy principle ms.harding. i did NOT break that window. I have no respect for ms. Harding. This is how the respectable people treat the children from orphanages........
Thats an incredibly sad story just like the show, so sorry that happened to you, my heart goes out to you. Much respect for sharing, thank you.
Some of his questions and inputs were really unnecessary. Clearly a man who’s got yet a lot to learn when it comes to women’s issues and struggles.
He is always making distinctions between man and women that only seems fake to me, and that is a big problem because right now there are a lot of people trying to be condescending just for the "fact" of "women can do this better because they are women" and all that stuff, which it is not always necessarily true, this just because they want to be part of the "change". And, in the reality, we are only asking to be treated in the same way (as human beings) that's it.
Everyone needs to watch this show
This show was amazing. Everyone played their part so perfectly. This is definitely a show to watch again
this show is so perfect. especially the last episode I cried so many times.
Just watched the whole series here in the UK.... Wonderful acting, great script, characters and with powerful message to both sexes...Hope it gets loads of awards. Thank you for interviewing the cast , writer's and director.
this show deserves an award and recognition
one of the best limited series ive watched
OMG toni collette and kaitlyn dever I'm here for it
One of the best TV short series I’ve watched this year. Wonderful actors, dialogue and knowing it’s based on true events adds such impact to the telling of Marie’s story.
This series was incredible. At different points throughout the show, I felt angry, sympathetic, hopeful, ecstatic, disgusted, proud, indignant, impressed, happy...and even laughed a few times! Truly an emotional roller coaster, which is a sign of great writing, directing, and casting/acting.
Just binge-watched this. The best thing I've seen in a very long time. Everyone is amazing, but Dever just broke my heart.
What I thought after watching this show was how many “fulse reported”, buried, untold cases are there.
people are so worried about men being falsely accused when stats show that men are more likely to be raped/sexually harassed/ abused themselves than be falsely accused.
Merritt Wever is the best!!!
and her soft voice 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Iv watched this series all in 1 day!! Absolutely brilliantly shot & Directed. The Cast was Amazing I loved the duo of Merritt & Toni!! 👏 ABSOLUTE LEGENDS!! Welldone to Kaitlyn for really going into depth with Marie's Character!!
I watched this entire series yesterday. And I watched the whole thing again today. I liked seeing it after knowing what happened because I caught things that I missed the first time. Truly such a great story.
This is how you tell such a story. Thank you to all of you.
I watched this series in less than a day! It’s an absolutely amazing series & BEYOND infuriating that this happens to women anytime it comes to sexual assault! This is why there need to be more female detectives in our world & better training when it comes to male cops/detective handling sexual assault cases. It deserves all the accolades that it’s getting and then some! It’s a one billion percent of a must watch series.
This show was amazing in all sorts of way be it the writing, cinematography or the performances. I loved all of their performances. Toni was brilliant in that role as always, Meritt was phenomenal and Katylin Dever, what a gem! she was great. Kudos to the whole team, on and off screen.
Unbelievable was absolutely amazing. Me and my mom both watched it apart from each other and were absolutely blown away. It is a really heavy theme but they just told it in a phenomenal way!
Everyone in the show is amazing! A well done show!
Loved this so much . Hope there be another series .
Merritt you were brilliant, and trust me, women needed to see you the way you portrayed your detective! Update: watched it two times now...such brilliant work and important story to be told!
Such a lovely group of intelligent women here. Loved the show!
I'm watching this now and I gotta say, I'm surprised at the depth and detail of the investigation is really surprising to me as a woman, let me tell you why. Any time i hear about a rape or assault on the news or TV or movies, they always say it is too hard to find the rapist and leave the impression that because it's too hard, they don't actually investigate. Does anyone else feel the same?
This show is wonderful. I watched it 3 times already and I still want more. It's so well written, you can feel and emphatise with everything on the screen. I wish both detectives would come back in another season or series.
"I watched it all in a day" means nothing anymore. Literally every second person is addicted to every show after 2 episodes! They have designed it so that it makes it very hard to not watch it all in one day. Anyway, great show, fantastic performances, made my blood boil in parts.
I bet he had to, 'cause he needed to be prepared for the interview.
I personally couldn't have watched it all at once because it's too emotional to consume like that.
How do people watch a show all in one day? I literally don't have the time! I work, have a family to take care of... I'll maybe watch 2 or at the most, 3 episodes in the evenings and that's it. I don't get the appeal of binge-watching and don't have the time for it!
Probably the best series I've seen in 2019. The three leads gave their best performances and I pretty much viewed the whole thing in a few days.
Merritt Wever deserves an Emmy for this!
Everyone deserves an Emmy
Subverting the genre by using two female detectives?
One, there have been shows/movies with female cops FOR YEARS.
Two, the REAL story was about the grit and determination of two outstanding female detectives.
Great series!
Kaitlyn! Huge role. You carried the story on your young shoulders. I was really moved. Loved Collette n Wever awesome.
It was an amazing show beautifully done and heartbreaking..loved how it was told
Thank you for bringing us to this story, the acting was superior by all. Assault takes many forms, and any woman who has been, will be touched, relief from the capture of this monster, and witnessing justice. This needs to be required viewing for all police officers and detectives!
Absolutely amazing series. All the characters were so engaging and awesome.
Outstanding show!! Finished it in one day, too!👏
I guess i am going to carry this story in my heart for centuries. The empathy, small roles, dialogues between pauses. Woah. Most delicate and beautifully haunting show i ever watched!
Merritt Wever did such an amazing job!!
Brilliantly made. A must watch, loved Merritt ♥️
One of the best, if not the best mini-series Netflix has launched this year. Superb story, directing and marvelous casting. Congratulations to all involved!
Great show, but such a poorly conducted interview
sangita bhatia Exactly! I can’t believe he interrupted and talked over the creators! 🙄😡
He can be annoying. Sometimes he seems like he was forced to watch the movie he's talking about.
@@ycoz5814 I mean, isn't he? It is his job.
Best movie and a great interview. Awesome
A amazing serie...great job....we need more episodes with this theam plz.... thank you
I also did wonder if Marie's story was true as the story unfolds, it was due to the incredible script and acting. I think this show was realistic in doing this as that is what happened to the real Marie. Toni Collette and Merritt Wever were amazing. I also loved Danielle Macdonald. Interesting to see 2 Austrailian actressess nailed it playing Americans!
Well Toni has been playing Americans in tv shows and movies for over 20 years, no surprise there, she's great. Danielle did surprise me haha I did not know she's Australian
I usually avoid these stories, but I just had to watch. This may be (at least to me) the best depiction on what it is like to be disbelieved by those around, authority included. I know what that's like. Thank you.
Jokes aside this tv show changed my life for an entirely new perspective on empathy and how life could be if you were a different person. I’ve never felt so attached to a main character before
Brilliant show. And detective Duvall was so amazing. Well done to the whole cast.
Two episodes in and the next Emmys couldn't come any sooner.
I literally watched it all in an afternoon it was amazing its such an underrated masterpiece
The show was so well made!! 🙌
Incredible performances from all.Watched because of Merritt and Toni, But came away appreciating all of them
Best series on Netflix . Well done x
I watched Unbelievable during this time and it was really amazing. One of the best in Netflix mini series. More people should watch.
A heartfelt thank you to ALL the individuals who helped to give these women and their stories a platform to reach the masses. 🙏🏻 #MerrittWever and #ToniCollette, are exceptionally inspirational and talented beyond comprehension. Thank you both for pouring yourselves into this project. 🙏🏻🙏🏻 #Unbelievable unapologetically exposes our careless and corrupt justice system while simultaneously giving a voice to so many victims of sexual assault and the damaging toll it takes on womens' lives, everywhere. EVERY ONE, NEEDS TO WATCH THIS LIMITED SERIES. #BravoNetflixBravo
the acting was spot on, also well put together, my niece told me about this........
so i know the interviewer is trying to be cute or "woke" or whatever but saying that "she knew how to handle it because she's a lady detective" is really dumb. like maybe she's just *a better detective* than the guys in the first episode. i like that the actress made that clear :)
Thank you. It was very cringy watching him try so hard. He even apologized for mentioning that he liked the role of the husbands because they’re men... what the fuck??
I always forget Toni Collett is Australian.
Surprisingly very good series! Loved it.
Katlyn and Meritt Weaver should get nominations at the golden globes
All leads were nominated for Golden Globes. Dever and Wever for lead, Collette for supporting. It's sad that one of Dever and Wever are not going to win. They should share it.
I think Michelle Williams is the strongest....I have watched both Fosse/Verdon and Unbelievable....I think Michelle has the edge
I didn't realize that stakeout scene was seven minutes long!! In the moment it felt like two minutes, it just works so well
It's such a brilliant show, does justice to the real-life incidents that took place and all this interviewer can focus on is gender stereotypes.
I appreciate that awards dont really mean anything, but i cant believe Kaitlyn and Merrit didnt really win any. Toni Collette is always great, obviously and was what I noticed initially about the show. However Merritt and Kaitlyn are just... absolutely mindblowing in this, and we need to talk about it more!!
Just bingewatched this and it was fucking awesome!!! Amazing show! I couldn’t stop watching.
you just convinced me to watch it! THank you
merritt wever is an incredible actress. so nuanced, great restraint- this role she played so perfectly and with toni collette what a duo- both are extremely underrated. i cant get enough of merritt wever i will watch any and everything she in.
Huge fan of Toni Collettes accent.. She's a true pro

@@dannygreen1964 I hope there isn't a season 2
Liked right away, hoped for Camilleri and got him. I wonder if Camilleri's "thank you so much" was a nod to Wever's adorable Emmy speech or just a coincidence. I finished Godless yesterday and my god how I loved it, so beautifully written, directed and acted, cos the cast was just perfect. Felt like a movie, cos it was first written as a movie. Wever is so good in it, which came as no surprise after seeing Unbelievable.
Unbelievably good show! Rollercoaster ride of emotions because of such amazing writing, direction and unbelievably good actors. I understand that the real life 2 women detectives solved the case, but portraying that beautifully on screen while building up relationship in between the two detectives is beyond amazing! Such strong female characters, so proud of the director how she created this masterpiece.
I hated how the Washington police didn’t get what they deserved in the end. They ruined her life.
No they didn't, the rapist did. Ironically if she had been believed in the first place she wouldn't have got the $150k as compensation which she used to start a new life.
Steve Smith totally get your point. But if they were doing their job right, and RESPECTED her privacy or even the possibility that she doesn’t want to let people know that she’d been raped, the suspect would’ve been caught waaay earlier and the other victims life’s would’t have been ruined. Marie was his first victim, and he left so much of his DNA on her just like he said in the last episode. Besides all of this, they were awful, condescending, disgusting, and absolutely unprofessional. And yes, personally I don’t think or want them to continue this professionalism because they suck like hell
Friends and care takers mistrusted her and told the police bad information about her. This made the police mistrust her.
The rapist is more like a rock to me, he has no emotions, he just exists. Nothing we can do about that, thousands of these cases around the world exist.
How people around a victim behave is what is unique here. Betrayed by people around her, basically they called her a liar, kicked her out and blamed her. Police took these people more seriously than the victim. Once you start to believe things to be true you will try to make them true. Just how people are, police is no different.
So for me the Rapist is to blame for the rape only.
Friends and care takers doubting her are to blame for everything after, instead of trying to understand and support her they threw her under the bus.
Police did made mistakes and yes they were not competent enough here, demotion or reassignment is what I would think is justified. But in no way do I think they were to blame for her misery.
Money can NEVER compensate for the lifelong trauma of rape!!! Or of complete character assassination!!! If the fucking detectives did their job then ALL those other women wouldn't have been raped and traumatized!!! That's the POINT!!!
i just binged watched this within 24 hours...lol it was so riveting...i had to sleep and watch the last 2 episodes the next day...i felt so heartbroken watching the series...her 2 foster moms were so unsupportive, especially the one who had her for her last 2 years...unfathomable...amazing she came out of it and survived.
