- Buying Japanese maples can be an impulse decision, but looking for a particular Acer can be very rewarding once you find one! Here I consider where to buy Japanese maples from and what a really good selection looks like. I share my day out to Matlock in Derbyshire UK to by a tree that I was alerted to by one of my channel subscribers, transporting the tree home and finally the decision process of wether to repot and if so into one container. I also so share my system of transporting the tree in the car safely, which I hope you will find amusing!

I'd be going there too next week on his last day of opening. I get my trees from packhorse too. I've got almost 500 trees and maybe more or less 400 cultivars 😊

Good price, that is ,I do like the yellow ones at the start ,think my next will be a bright yellow one ,I've got 2 reds and 2 green ones so far ,wife said I can have 1 more😅 ,👍

Do you recommend disturbing the roots when potting a newly purchased, rootbound Acer?
Hi, no I never disturb the roots, in fact Acers love a pot full of roots especially over winter 👍
