  • Meet Agnes Mann. Originally from Poland, she lived in the UK for 19 years but moved to India with her family a year ago. Agnes shared with me why Indian education is considered better than British, the difference in the cost of living between the UK and India, and why poverty in India is often stereotyped by foreigners. Enjoy!

As an Indian, I like the UK.
India outside a city is a way better place any day. India has beautiful nature. Landscapes
Indian people are very good with hospitality and are friendly, but they are the least honest and somewhat corrupt because of the low standard of living in India.
Education, I think, is not better than in the UK.
The UK is definitely better, the problem is social media in the UK and also in India.
There are so many unemployed youth in India, but it's also a global problem.
But because education is not up-to-date for this change till now.

Poverty is deeply rooted in the UK, with more than a decade of cuts meaning millions of families across the country are struggling through financial hardship. Many more are being pushed below the breadline as the cost of living crisis hits low-income households the hardest.
Around 14.4 million people were living in poverty in the UK in 2021/2022, according to the government’s official statistics. That is around one in five people. A total of 4.2 million children were affected.
These harrowing figures were captured before the cost of living crisis took its toll on the country. The situation now is likely far worse.
Research from the JRF has found 3.8 million people experienced the most extreme form of poverty - destitution - in 2022. That is a 61% increase since 2019. More than 1 million of those affected were children.

Happy to see you both and I am really happy for it. The truth about India is it houses every kind of people and every kind of living. From basic clothing to entertainment and amusement parks, India has its own choices for everybody. It is well known to the world that India is still young and developing. You can't expect a BHM graduate on the streets to sell street foods who can give you hygienic food. Of course, India is famous for its street foods and people love to eat there and they have got used to it. Indian cities are overcrowded by its own migrant people from different parts of the country and not all those migrants are educated. India, as a country, has its own drawbacks. It still needs reform in many aspects like Education System, Politics, Healthcare, Infrastructure, Transport, and many other things. All we need is good governance that has vision towards country's development and welfare of its people. Anyways, you are just seeing "Young India" and you may get to see the "Grown India" in the coming decades. Good luck both of you.

We don’t “have” time- we give our time to other people because we believe that it is a good thing to have guests and social cohesion. Also, just because some people in India are poor, doesn’t mean you’ll get robbed or whatever happens in the West. Even in the poorest areas, you can move around safely because people are quite law-abiding and happy. All this world happiness index nonsense is just that- nonsense. Indians are happy people overall

such "unnecessary" tests are for those that are pro active in their health approach. it is important to catch any disease early so we can treat it. but not everyone has such approach in health and don't care until they start to feel unwell... and then might be too late to treat it resulting in not only big bill but shorter life or poorer health. that is my view anyway...

An Indian left his job in India and joined a salesman's job in a big departmental store in Canada. On the first day, the Indian worked with full vigor.
      At 6 pm
Boss :- "How much of sales did you do on the first day?"
Indian : "Sir, I attended to 1 Sales call."
Boss : "Only 1 sale the whole day? Usually every salesman here does 20 to 30 Sale transactions a day. Well, tell me what is the value of your today's one sale?"
      Indian : "$93300
Boss : "What?? Unbelievable! But how did you do that?"
Indian : "Sir, 1 customer came in and I sold him a small fishing hook. Then a mazola and then finally sold a big hook. Then I sold him 1 big fishing rod and some fishing gear..."
"Then I asked him where does he go to catch fish and he said to the coastal area...."
"Then I said to him that he would need a boat. So I took him down to the boat department and sold him a 20 ft double engine scooner boat."
"When he said the boat won't come in his Volkas Wagon, I took him to the auto mobile section and and sold him the new Deluxe 4 x 4 blazer to carry the boat."
"And when I asked him where he would be going fishing ??? He didn't plan anything. So I took him to the camping section and sold him a six sleeper camper tent."
"And then he took groceries worth $ 200 and 2 cases of beer i"
Now the boss took 2 steps back and asked :- "You sold all this to a person who came just to buy only 1 fish hook???"
Indian : "NO, SIR... He actually came in to Buy 1 Tablet For his Headache.... I explained to him that 'Fishing'is the Best Way to Get Rid of Headaches!!"
Boss : "Where did you work before ???"
Indian : "I was a PRO in a private hospital in India. For any patient who would come in for any 'Minor Complaint', we get the Patient Tested for Pathology, ECO, ECG, TMT, CT SCAN, X-Ray, MRI etc."

Having a maid to do your daily work IS NOT A GOOD THING that we have in India. People are becoming too reliant on these maids for every kind of personal jobs such as cooking, cleaning toilets. It is absolutely disgusting. I consider it a kind of slavery even though people may argue and defend over providing employment and treating maids well. Definitely Not, majority of us Indians have become just too dependent and taking advantage of the majority of poor class who have are in need of money and are ready to take up trash jobs.
If you visit Japan, even the kids are taught to clean their own bathrooms. In foreign countries, the daily jobs are done by themselves. They might sometimes use professional services very rarely. We should learn this good thing from the West and not be too proud and do a lot of chest thumping.
