  • Welcome Back to the channel ,In this episode I'm out Chinese water deer stalking after I got a invite from one of my subscribers. after a few months of chatting over the phone the day finally came .
Chris also `joined me on the dat as Tony wanted to meet him as they both do the same work as pigeon guides .
we met up with Tony had a chat , he then showed us around the ground .due to Tonys ill health he put a lot of trust in Myself & Chris in letting us stalk his ground by ourselves .
We set off walking through some wet scrub land and trees after just a short stalk I encountered my first pair of CWD at around 100 yards . After myself and Chris observed them they were 2 young does .
Moving on I picked up multiple heat sources again myself and Chris both stood observing them . a young buck and 3 does . after a few minutes. we came across a young buck that was injured , Chris said I should take it as it was injured.
Getting steady on the sticks I watched it through the scope I waited for it to come from behind a small sapling . Safety off I squeezed the trigger . still looking through the scope I could see the deer on the floor with no movement. So it was a good clean shot.
checking back the scope footage it seems I forgot to press the record on the scope .
I walked up to the deer I could see it was a beautiful animal checking it over I could see it did have a bad foot ,So it was a good call from Chris to take it .
Moving on Just a short distance another just got up 20 yards in front of us moving slowly not wanting to run off it stood looking at us , Chris said get on the sticks and take it as it was a old buck in poor condition with broken teeth .I took the shot quick and it was another good clean shot. looking over it ,it has battle scars new and old So another good animal to remove .
we decided to call it a afternoon and headed back across the scrub land to meet up with Tony .

Thanks , it was very difficult to record as it was all new to me . Also trying to make sure it was a clean shot on the Animal . Lots of things running through your mind when stalking them . Making sure it was a safe shot . Also being on someone’s else’s ground you have to make sure everything is done 100 % right . 👍

Tony is a proper gentleman, he put a lot of trust in myself & Chris letting us stalk his ground on our own . I couldn’t thank him enough.
Looking forward to having him over with us for a day .

Good video! We were mainly fallow and muntjac on ours but in the last 10 years the c.w.d population has exploded rapidly. When stalking then its more like stalking a hare rather than deer, how they act and lay flat- disappearing in the shortest of cover. They also seem to have a nervous system more like a rabbit when shot (especially neck shot) and kick and jump like no deer I've seen.
Great video and thanks for the upload 👍🏻

There a Marvellous animal to stalk and there camouflage in the cover was unreal . Walked up on so many . We don’t have them around us . It was very kind of Tony to invite me over .
      Thanks for your comment 👍
