At around 30:00 you said why would the U.S. care about some random South American State. I don't know much about Victoria 3 but in 1823 the U.S. declared the Monroe Doctrine. It was a declaration that European hostility/recolonization towards any South American state would be seen as an attack on the U.S. itself.

@@kristibbs-lg9gy Historically speaking Britian was the primary enforcer of the Monroe doctrine until well after the civil war. the US declared the doctrine but it was usually the Royal navy that actually caused empires to back down. though the US would fight the Spanish American war in 1845 striping Spain of Cuba and the Philippines.
The Spanish were under napoleons boot and the ones that did fight against him used guerrilla warfare to fight that’s the best excuse I could come up with
a few things about the tech tree. while they did fight (and then later belong) to napoleon and his family Spain did not adopt Napoleonic style warfare like much of Europe did. they created a new form of Guerilla warfare instead that was highly decentralized, mobile and depended on small unit tactics. very different from Napoleonic warfare. and while yes Spain had a huge colonial empire (though actually portugal was technically first) both Spain and Portugal have abandoned or lost many of those colonies and are in the process of decolonizing in this era. they are not further expanding their colonial holdings and are in fact trying to find ways to profitably divest themselves of their colonies. after the Spanish American war. they will lose their last major colonies and never colonize again. it makes total sense that they don't have colonial laws at the moment. they are actively avoiding expanding colonies they cannot afford right now.
The random troops are coming from conquered territory that was building military buildings. when you take those regions you get the troops associated with them.
@@kristibbs-lg9gy that i havnt figured out but i believe its due to recruitment. I've noticed it more when im building ships. I will have the building build but i wont gain a ship right away. It may take a few days in game for it to generate. So possibly thats also the case with the random troops. Sometimes they join instantly sometimes they take a minute to generate. Just my thoughts.
You can change the tab that shows jobseekers to show peasants instead. Click on the settings tab on the top of that state panel and once it expands you'll see the option to search by peasants. You're welcome.
Little advice for the healthcare Law: Charity hospitals is kind of a trap. It may be better than No health system or Private health insurance but you want Public Health insurance as soon as possible. The problem is, that if charity hospitals are enacted, your Church IG group doesnt support Public health anymore and the only supporters are Trade unions which only become powerful in late game. If you are about to research Pharmaceuticals, get off of charity hospitals to either No health or Private insurance (whatever is faster) and then have the Church in your government to pass Public health. The church is powerful for pretty much every country at game start and makes it very easy to get Public health early in the game. So dont make the church weaker by passing a "Church and State" law and activate Chruch production methods: "State run churches" in urban centers, "Administrative clergy" in gov administration and "clerical educators" in universities. Once you have public health you can change the power of your church (or whatever the religious IG is called in any nation) to whatever you want.
you can change what type of pops you see when yo´re going to build. wanna see peasants or unemployed pops in vic 3? if u press the settings button when you are building you get the option

When you have your country on 2 continents or when your territory is divided by sea goods get moved between the territory by convoys. When all the convoys get destroyed there is nothing to move goods like cloths iron food and stuff like that. So people starve/lose their job/get lower wages and pretty much have a bad time. Which make them in to radicals. At that point more then 50% of my population was radical. And the more radicals you have the more likely they are to succeed. Same thing was happening for my puppets at the same time so that's why.
