Awesome post. If anyone remembers Bob opening a snake can on his birthday, i was the little kid who sent it in. LOL. His show was a highlight of my 80s childhood.
Man this is so cool I was a past prime playhouse junkie I even in the 60s as a tot watched Bob and the hudepohl show with my dad I never seen this .I dont have time to watch this but saving thank you for posting this .
I'm 58 and I remember the same thing. Me and my 2 sisters would stay at my grandmothers place and we would call in sometimes and Bob would read our silly notes. NA NA was my grandmother of course and he read that and my grandma got a big kick out of that as well. You never see a classic show like this anymore.
During one of the Larry Smith puppet segments, Bob mentions that Halloween isn't until Wednesday night, so this episode would have aired on October 27th, 1984.

I can remember my parents letting me camp out in the backyard in the late 70s and I’d have my little black and white tv tuned to ppp , core memory !

I loved watching this with my mom in Wilmington. After this show they had Rat Patrol come on.
Watching this makes me miss Bob even more…52 now and would match with my grandmother when I was a kid. She loved hearing Bob mention her name.
I miss him too. I used to watch with my dad back in the day as long as I could stay awake.
