it’s a funny thing, i never had liked this album in high school (released at the end of my junior year when i was just getting into AM) but now that i’m out of college i can safely say it is easily my favorite album by the band- and this is my favorite song from that album! i love it! just had to age gracefully into it haha

And I'm so grateful for this journey, love every piece from them, from Alex alone and The Last Shadow Puppets project with Miles. I'm with them since the very beginning and always will be.

This video expresses exactly what Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino was described as. A flight at 70's with a pinch of science fiction. The extra actors seems like they are building the Hotel like the engineers build a spaceship in a instalation base. Alex walks around the facility seeing his project geting complete. The air is pure of a 70's sci-fi movie, just like sounds the entire album, which is pretty in my opinion.

It's been 5 years since the release, and it was an odd and kind of an underrated era of Arctic Monkeys.
This music video gives me sinister vibes, like, this hotel has some dark secret and someone found out and now the owner of the hotel is hunting down the person that knows
My thoughts exactly since listening to it for the first time. Like he’s some sort of galactic scale con artist! Rave reviews but only 4/5, monster truck front flips etc.

3:55 gives me christmas vibes and i love every second of it
When I was listening to this album for the first time, I thought "well ok that is weird". But one day I came home absolutely exhausted, sat down on my sofa and decided to listen to it again, right from the first track. By the end of the album I did not want it to ever stop. I was absolutely somewhere in outer space and I thought: "That is a masterpiece! Like a true form of art. Like a good painting. You don't come to gallery everyday to see a painting, you have to be in that particular state of mind to enter that room, sit down and enjoy the art"
That is not that kind of music album that you would just put in your headphones and listen to it everyday on the regular basis, that is something you turn on, like an old vinyl, sit down and enjoy.
I had one listen, and didnt listen again for a year. I hated it. But now, it's my favourite album

ALEXZERO you need extremely delicate(yet accurate) microphones pointed at space to hear cosmic bodies actually produce sounds. I believe they aren’t microphones like we generally know them, they read the energy that they produce and “read” a sound out of the energy.
“Little Green Men-1” was suspected to have been produced from an extraterrestrial source trying to communicate to us but we later learned that it was a rapidly rotating neuron star producing electromagnetic radiation. I haven't seen anyone in these comments talk about it, the scenes with the orange walls are shot in the Marienplatz subway station in Munich. It is one of the most important stations, at peak 24000 people switch trains per hour. It was built from 1966-1971 so the style perfectly suits the song.
This orange tunnel is a famous train station in Munich and I've walked it like a million times and I was so shocked when I saw it lol

Liking this album doesn't determine whether you're a true fan or not, bands change their sound to their liking, not the fans', Alex Turner is writing whatever he wants, if you like it, cool, if you don't, that's fine, too, but you shouldn't bash on the change, instead you should be happy that Alex isn't writing just to please people, if this is the direction that he wants to take the band then so be it, I'm totally digging it and I've been listening to this album on repeat for hours now, everyone has different tastes.

Literally spot on. All because some fans think its shite means it definitely is no matter what. I think they forget that if a musician (or anyone in the entertainment or arts) made things to please the fans, and not what they wanted will end up being a huge mess. I don't know why people have such a hard time understanding this, or refusing to accept that, that is reality.
I agree with what you say, even not liking one single song (listened to the album when it came out and a few months after to see if my perception had changed, but no). At max I found one song to be ok. But it's just not for me, maybe the next one will be who knows.
