    I live in Puerto Rico and our Lion Mane is the Coral Tooth-type. I know they are all Lion Manes BUT I REALLY love ours the PR one. Looks so much more awesome.

    I find these all the time in northern Maine, I used to think it was Bears Head Tooth, but I was wrong! I love Coral Tooth. To me, it tastes like shellfish, and with butter and garlic, it's fantastic. Next season I'm going to try making "crab cakes" with them.

    Found coral tooth for the firs time growing on a dead maple sump and log in my woods the other day. It does indeed have a very slight seafood like flavor. I just had some cooked in butter and a little Reisling wine that I had left over. Very tasty, mild, sweet, excellent.

    The coraloides is one of my favorite mushrooms to eat. You can wash them thoroughly under running water and get them clean, then toss them in a pan with some butter, not too much, and just boil off the water until you have a nicer sauce. I don’t cook them as much as you did cause they loose a bit of flavor that well done. When cooked in butter they taste like seafood; amazing!

    Going mushroom hunting this weekend wit my GF and her 2 girls. She loves mushrooms as much as I do tho me n her don't know if the girls will like it. Any tips to help me n her to get the girls into mushroom hunting?? I would love to make it once or twice a month thing just the 4 of us can do when the girls come to stay with us every other weekend. Any tips at all would be GREAT!! I know the girls ain't mine but I treat them like they are and always try to find things we can do together as a family. Their dad ain't like me at all and is strict on them so I thought bringing them into the woods would be something new n fun for them as they have never been in the woods. So ANY ideas would be VERY appreciated. Thanks

    Great video, and absolutely gorgeous-looking mushroom! I might try growing it, if I can figure out how to grow regular lion's mane properly; my last two turned out bitter, somehow. Maybe because I'm eating it when it's sporing? Or maybe it's like asparagus and coriander, and some people just have the wrong genes for tasting it.

    • @KOKO-uu7yd
      @KOKO-uu7yd Před rokem

      By my experience, which is VERY limited tbh 😉, they do indeed get bitter when they are old enough to spore. It t seem hard at all to grow, but understanding what was happening as it DID grow seemed a bit tough. When it was about to fruit, when it was ripe, those just look DIFFERENT somehow? 🤷‍♀️
      I'm gonna try again. So, good luck to us both🤞👍
