It is good to see Jak and the majority of the Crash community happy with the trilogy and future of Crash. I just hope the same love, care, and critical success can come to Spyro now.
I love this trilogy. I 100% them when they released last year, and never deleted N sane off the hard drive for my kids to play. We played future tense the other night passing the controller back n forth, like me and my older used to do. I still have the originals too, but do feel this trilogy does great justice and rather the kids see crash how I used to imagine it was lol.
I can Honestly say after playing these games and the release of the new update and Levels. The Crash Trilogy is one of my favorite games of all Time. Thanks for covering this Jak you never Disappoint.
I definitely agree with you on the way crash looks on switch , it was defiantly pretty jarring to see that fur texture , but in a way it's a pretty interesting look to it .
Love that they improve on the tiny details we had problems on when the game was originally released , it just goes to show how both activision and vicarious visions were dedicated to their craft , showing how they were willing to listen to our problems we had and improve on them 😁👌
I'm loving the way Future Tense came out. So many cool new ideas that make it feel it's actual fans of Crash working on it. Things like the boxes that switch around between box-types now having TNT, little details like that. So awesome. And I can't help but admire what they did with the window reflection stuff.
Honestly, after a year playing the N-Sane Trilogy since its release, I honestly consider it the best way to play the original games right now, sure those games still hold a special place in my heart, but the love and passion that was put in here really shines through. Definitely one of the best remakes (yes, a REMAKE) that I've played in my life (also this patch for the loading times was a GODSEND)
I was blown away by Future Tense. I never knew you could pull off so much with that original formula we grew up with. I'm pretty sure that if we haven't seen more levels, it's because VV is already working on a new game. I hope it's an original game more than anything, but would tolerate a CTR remastered (and only that), just for possible online multiplayer. As for you, Jak. I don't use my account very often, so I don't think you'll recognize me, but I've seen your videos for several years now and it's great seeing your channel grow over time, specially with the quality content you've put out lately. I loved what you did with the Sly and the Croc series. Cheers on those 18k subs and keep up the good work.
That Spyro trailer can also be viewed by entering the demo code from Crash 3. I only wish it had been a playable demo instead of just a trailer. Hmm.. maybe they'll update that in later.
@@BenjaminGoodman Well it's not "NEW" but it is good to see Activision actually confident enough to do another Remake/"Remaster" of an old Crash game... I just hope we also get a similar situation with Spyro, If not a NEW one then perhaps a Remake/FINISH of Spyro Year of the Dragonfly? I never played it but I can see how much it could benefit from being remade (maybe even add new stuff since it only had like 4 levels or something originally due to time restraints etc. etc.)

Future Tense was a nice surprise. Pretty challenging too! It took me a while to discover the Death Route and finishing it. EVEN THEN, I'm missing 2 boxes. I'll look every look and fucking cranny to 100% this level. Great re-review, mr. Square Eyed Jak. As you say, I hope we can see some new Crash games in the future or even new levels for the trilogy. So far, it's been more than a pleasure to play this and I'm glad lots of issues have been adressed (When I finished off Dingodile, I wasn't expecting to hear anything from him because I remembered what you said in your last N. Sane video. I was happily surprised to see it was added.)

Great video! The little Crash themed intro looked pretty good and over all the video didn't feel boring or useless. Good points were made, some fangirling (not too much tho) and a nice way to end my day.
I feel like so much can still be done with the Classic Crash Bandicoot formula that isn't Vehicle Hell. Future Tense was a great start to that, they really did use Crash 3's powerups to a good extent, I feel like if VV van make the next Crash game, I think they could do some crazy stuff with the formula. I hope Activision is smart enough to let VV finally pump out another new Crash game. Also have high hopes for Spyro Reignited Trilogy, but that is Toys for Bob, still looks great though.
I think a video like this is a good thing because a revisiting a game like a remaster game or any new game coming back to it mainly because updates are a thing so problems you had are probably gone so it is awesome to see

Like the Underwater and Chinese levels, which only had two levels each. If they were to do one extra level to each, I think they should be called Under the Surface and Shanghai Noon.

I think one of the reasons I love your videos so much is that you ease into reviews with a story, rather than just reviewing the game right away. It makes everything you say more relatable. Even as a Nintendo fan who disagreed heavily with your video where you criticized Nintendo, the way you present videos makes it easy to "agree to disagree".
I also found it cool that you can switch between Crash and Coco on both of the plane levels. I'm not sure if we can do the same thing for Rings of Power yet. I need to get all 25 relics to be certain. Edit: As for Future Tense, it's honestly my favourite level in Warped for making me take advantage of Crash 3's mechanics like what Crash 2 does with it's mechanics. The platforming, the challenge and the variety throughout Future Tense alone makes me very hopeful towards Vicarious Visions for the future of the series.
7:40 that’s how I feel about Majoras Mask 3D. Despite having some changes I’m not a fan of (completely changing the boss fights for example) the improvements made to saving and the time travel systems along with portability make the 3DS version the definitive way to play Majoras Mask, especially for newcomers
As someone who has got the Platinum Relic in Stormy Ascent, I can (and I'm sure others can also) vouch for how torturous doing such a thing was. In fact I only a few days ago got the Platinum in Future Tense and honestly I thought it was a lot easier to get in that level.
I was counting down the days until this got released on PC and now I finally have it. Having played through and completed the original game as a kid 100% I was looking forward to steping up and replicating my childhood success. Gotta say I found it every bit enjoyable (and frustrating) getting through it and it really made me appreciate again how good these games actually were for the time. Having said that I felt Crash moved a little differently from the original which made everything way harder at first whilst I was still adjusting. Also Stormy Ascent was about as enjoyable as pulling teeth, I can see why it was removed first time round.
I'm going to admit, the N. Sane Trilogy was the first time I played the three games...AT ALL. And I enjoyed my time with it. Can't really get around to downloading anything on the PS4 version (it's pretty much whatever's on the disc in the initial copy), but I got the Switch version after reviews said it was a solid port, and it has that DLC right in the cartridge. Plus, with work being busy, I was able to scratch that Crash itch in the break room at work before it was time to be working my butt off. You did good on this, Jak. I appreciate your perspective on things, and I look forward to more. I'd love either a CTR remake, or an entirely new game.
I’m glad they added Dingodiles line back in he’s my favorite video game boss battle ever and he’s always gonna be my favorite villain from the Crash series I mean come on what’s not to love about a dingo mixed with a crocodile and it’s favorite thing is a flamethrower and it has an amazing Australian voice if I was Australian I would be a human version of dingodile no doubt about it

I had not paid much attention to this new level of Crash 3, and from what I could see in this video it looks great! There is a lot of potential for a new game. And maybe most of the level is in 2D because Vicarious Visions is more used to that, like they did the GBA games and all that. Good video, Jak.
So happy they finally fixed the load times and let you skip the intro. The new level is great. Also in regards to he Switch version, that version doesn't have wall reflections, which really hurts the new level. Only thing that kind of sucks about that version.
I’m playing N sane Trilogy right now and OMG! After playing the entire original trilogy last year including Wrath and Twinsanity, VV done a faithful job with the remaster of our famous ginger marsupial. I can see the music’s not as atmospheric as the original and the second game have some disappointmoment. Thank god I got a chance to play this as the very first on my new PS4 because I can see great improvements in the game compare to the first day version. However, I will say that the Slipperily Climb music from N Sane fits very well in Stormy Ascent.

All the love and care put into it. *As I've heard 70% of the game was cut out. Oof.* I got Twinsanity for Christmas last year and even though I ran into 30 glitches the 1st time playing it, It had me laughing all the way through the Chaos. Speaking of Chaos... Cortex Chaos anyone? >:D
Yeaah, I have to agree, although I'm really happy to see these new patches and some new content it really begs the question of why they had so little faith/care towards the game post release. An entire year of nothing is pretty depressing when you consider how successful the reboot was. Hopefully they take better care of Spyro, which is already looking like yet another huge success, they've been actively taking feedback from play-testers for a while now and I have no doubts that the games will deliver. :)
One thing about the soundtrack. While i do agree with you for the most part, i gotta say, most of boss music sounds better in the N. Sane trilogy than in the original games. Especially N. Gin and Komodo bros.
That box gem really fucked with me the first time, I had to look up a video to see what I was missing. The level was pretty challenging and felt great to see something new. I picked the switch version when it came out and it plays just fine. The lighting seems darker though that maybe my brightness on my switch not sure. I even picked up a wired n sane controller for the switch at gamestop. Needless to say I'm really enjoying it so far on a different system. Good review by the way.
I wonder what theme the inevitable new crash game will have. Crash 1 was basically 3d donkey kong country, crash 2 had climatal changes and technology, and crash 3 had time travel. What would be cool is possibly around the world?
I haven't played it yet since the update but all of these changes have certainly made me need to rewrite sections in my own review of it. All for the better however cos everything here is a plus for me, especially the load times. This has definitely made me optimistic for Crash in the future :)

I kinda wish we had the option to toggle back to the original soundtrack. In Crash 1, the sounds are much darker and dramatic. I kinda miss that.

Also in regards to he Switch version, that version doesn't have wall reflections, which really hurts the new level. Only thing that kind of sucks about that version.

I’m playing N sane Trilogy right now and OMG! After playing the entire original trilogy last year including Wrath and Twinsanity, VV done a faithful job with the remaster of our famous ginger marsupial. I can see the music’s not as atmospheric as the original and the second game have some disappointmoment. Thank god I got a chance to play this as the very first on my new PS4 because I can see great improvements in the game compare to the first day version. However, I will say that the Slipperily Climb music from N Sane fits very well in Stormy Ascent.
Wow! Future Tense reminds me so much of Haven City from Jak II!
Remember that Vicarious Visions did Crash Bandicoot The Huge Adventure and N-Tranced, maybe thats the reason because Future Tense is mostly 2D

I know you said you want a whole new game for crash, but for me? I really want Twinsanity finished. 4K, All the cut content put back in. All the love and care put into it. *As I've heard 70% of the game was cut out. Oof.*
I got Twinsanity for Christmas last year and even though I ran into 30 glitches the 1st time playing it, It had me laughing all the way through the Chaos.

Yeaah, I have to agree, although I'm really happy to see these new patches and some new content it really begs the question of why they had so little faith/care towards the game post release. An entire year of nothing is pretty depressing when you consider how successful the reboot was. Hopefully they take better care of Spyro, which is already looking like yet another huge success, they've been actively taking feedback from play-testers for a while now and I have no doubts that the games will deliver. :)
One thing about the soundtrack. While i do agree with you for the most part, i gotta say, most of boss music sounds better in the N. Sane trilogy than in the original games. Especially N. Gin and Komodo bros.

That box gem really fucked with me the first time, I had to look up a video to see what I was missing. The level was pretty challenging and felt great to see something new. I picked the switch version when it came out and it plays just fine. The lighting seems darker though that maybe my brightness on my switch not sure. I even picked up a wired n sane controller for the switch at gamestop. Needless to say I'm really enjoying it so far on a different system. Good review by the way.
I wonder what theme the inevitable new crash game will have. Crash 1 was basically 3d donkey kong country, crash 2 had climatal changes and technology, and crash 3 had time travel. What would be cool is possibly around the world?

I think Future Tense is great. A good balance of challenging yet fun. I love that it even took a bit of light puzzle solving to get the 2 gems.
I thought I was crazy when I got THIS giddy over the N Sane Trilogy. Good to see that others also think it's worth tears of joy.

I used an ssd in the Xbox version and it literally boots every level in 1-3 seconds it’s great.
I haven't played it yet since the update but all of these changes have certainly made me need to rewrite sections in my own review of it. All for the better however cos everything here is a plus for me, especially the load times. This has definitely made me optimistic for Crash in the future :)
