as a sales rep for a mobile carrier, these videos give me a ton of info on each device, Thanks for the awesome vids!!!
one of the best reviews ive seen. close ups show great detail. love it.
I love the box. I look at mine everyday.
Yeah the box is awesome! 😃
I would love it if the notification light was a capacitive button, so when you tap it, it opens up the notification shade
Many think it has an uninspired design but I personally think this is one of the better looking phones available right now. Minimalist and elegant. The glass front and back give it a unified look, even if glass is fragile. I currently have the iPhone 5 and I'm not crazy about the duo-tone design on the back, but this nexus is beautiful. LG definitely stepped up finally.
FINALLY, there's a person who actually appreciates these things. People nowadays are too compulsive to appreciate even the little simplest stuff that they have that didn't even exist last decade, like the smartphones of today.
Watching in 2024…I’ve had nearly every Samsung flagship phone over the years, recently switch to iOS and got the 15 pro max but…I had the Nexus 4 too years ago which is why I’m here. Man, those were the days, things were so much simpler…to this day, I’ll still say it was one of the best phones I’ve ever had.
I have this phone and been using it for 2 weeks now. Never had a problem with touch screen sensitivity.
Your boy is back watching the review again.
I have 3 colleagues with this phone. And all of them praises it in the best words. And these guys are no android fanboys. Its worth every penny.
Man, you really do a good job with your videos. you throw allot of information out there and really go through it and i appreciate your videos man thanks!
Congrats on 100,000+ subscribers!!!
Whoa!! 9 minutes!! Grab the popcorn!!
Mike you are my favourite You tuber, no one else puts as much detail into their unboxing`s and reviews :)
i know he is an apple fan obviously but at least he doesn't compare devices in the reviews and go n about how he likes this specific product he tell you mostly facts and literally very few opinions in his videos.. keep up the good work :)
This is my favorite Google phone because the phone they introduced Pokémon challenge which deleted the Pokémon go one of the most legendary games of all time and this was actually the first Google phone with actual good mobile games
s3 or nexus 4?
Nexus 4
Or I think 5
Believe me. Your voice and video quality makes the difference... it's kinda like watching a Liam Neeson's movie :P Best youtube unboxer/reviewer.
you are a good listener. no one would have noticed that
I hear the LTE carrier issue. its nice to see them cut out of the process and still have a good price point. Also great review man.
When you add a widget to the lock screen is not a bug that you see the unlock ring, you can swipe it down to hide it and swipe it up to bring it back. In this way you're able Ru unlock you're phone on every "screen"
That is one sexy phone! I was about to buy one, but now I'm going to wait until after this week's Google I/O conference to see if they announce something even newer.
Nice unboxing & demo. I was seriously considering the Note 2 for my next device, but I want to check out Nexus 4 for that pure stock goodness
2020 and still the most beautiful phone for me
this guy deserve an award!
Finally...the Borg Review!!! (the only one that matters)
Tip when you try to make a photo sphere, try to keep the phone in its place, unlike you do in panorama mode where you move you're whole arm.
Always so detailed, great job
Nice video, I always get that "Pure Stock CZcams experience" by watching your videos...:-)
Amazing video as always, Mike.
There is no bug in the lock screen. You can actually drag down on the widget to make it full screen, or drag up to shrink it again.
That lockscreen widget is not a bug. If you touch the widget and drag down it will make the widget full size and put the lock under it. Same goes with the clock, you can swipe the clock down on the main page to remove the unlock ring and make it an image of a lock at the bottom. You can swipe up the lock on any page to unlock the device from whatever page you are on.
I loved this phone. Favorite phone I've ever used.
I always love your videos, they're so well done :D
Well its only $300 unlocked for a 4.7 inch screen (iPhone 4'), the fastest quadcore processor on the market (iPhone is only dualcore) and has 2 GB of RAM (iPhone only has 1 GB). So you get way more for your money than with an iPhone and Android gives you more options and customization. I went for the Nexus 4 and I'm happy I made that choice.
Love the review, very nice job explaining everything and being so articulate.
got one on the way. Cant wait
Your videos are great. Very specific and detailed. A++
..... concurred- great phone and experience so far from/with upgrade from GalaxyS ...great review too! so fast love IT!!
There is no doubt that technology has advanced so quickly and continues to become better everyday. People always complain that they don't have the latest and greatest things. What I always tell myself is that I'm happy for what I have. Not everybody can afford things that people do. Also, when I'm 18 and I had my first phone when i was 14 and now I see kids these days younger than me having stuff better than me. Not that I'm complaining but kids are just too spoiled.
I think I read about a different material that could be used for batteries. It holds a way better charge than the current materials used in batteries . Also, some people at a university figured out how to cut charging time in half by using some crazy math skills.
Hopefully this stuff will become mainstream so we can see some drastically improved batteries soon.
I'm with you all the way, mate!
I would choose an s3 and put stock android in it. the capacitive touch buttons on the s3 gives you extra usable screen. which will come very handy and you'll love. I own a nexus 4. Stock android is beautiful and very fast. totally recommended.
Used the phone for more than 4 years only to have the screen gone undetectable to fingers cuz i dropped it. If i hadnt drop it, it would still be usable today. No phone has come as close to beautiful as nexus 4 today.
I just wanted to point out that the lockscreen widgets "bug" you mentioned isn't a bug at all. Try swiping up and down and see what happens.
Hey, I just found ur channel thank you to making those great reviews
u have the best reviews. cheers,
Galaxy Nexus 4?
Great Unboxing video tho. Best I've seen all day
he's good! yeah no problem, it's easy when your looking forward to a giveaway and a review of the new mac. Yeah we do to, he is a great guy. He is near fluent with Spanish now so that's good news. Well best of luck to ya, keep putting out great reviews
I bought the nexus 4 and I am really happy with the fact that they did not include headphones to keep the cost down, as I already own a great pair of skullcandy headphones. Also I thought you might want to know it is 2013, not 2012. Cheers :)
The sphere mode....after 1 year, apple will take that as a revolution as they said for the panorama mode in the iphone 5. Thingd they don't know, the panorama mode is on my old nexus s.
Good review Mike. I hope i can change my nexus for that jewel
i didn't love the nexus but i love the way you unbox.... great unboxing!!!!
your very good with reviews... if you don't know this is thatsnazzyiphoneguy's younger brother
That lockscreen thing isn't a bug... You are supposed to be able to unlock the phone on any screen from sliding up, so it makes the widget smaller. To make the widget to its original size just slide down and the unlock dissappears
This is probably the best phone for the price to date.
I gotta say, the speaker is pretty damn loud. love my Nexus 4
hahaha seriously its surreal ....anyone who has seen these things evolve from scratch will definitely be amazed. My dad is still amazed by the idea of email even though he sends tons of them everyday and that too from his blackberry :D
$300 unlocked? I am very impressed. If you asked me a year ago if I cared about 4g or not I would say no, but now that I have experienced it I can't stand it when I'm on 3g, though.
with the widgets, you can actually drag them down to re-size, so instead of turning off screen you can do that :)
Im actually an owner of both (Brother on S3, Sister on Nexus, and I on iPhone 5). I dont give a shit about the specification on paper. I, based on my first had experience with the phones, found that the iPhone is a lot more sturdy and better built then both Nexus, and Galaxy. OS definitely goes to Android, as it is refreshing and creative. I do hate how people hate on Apple just to band wagon with all the Android fans. iPhone 5 has a superior physical feel then the S3 and Nexus... guaranteed.
I wouldn't say that a removable battery is a standard. You get a more "premium" feel usually when the back is sealed off from being opened. I think that the OEM's are trying to abolish removable batteries.
This was a good review! :)
This phone is great, I would definitely buy it but I don't think it's coming to my country anytime soon. Great unboxing and Demo
This phone is the best budget android available,I recently traded in my nexus for an htc one, its much better but this phone is still pretty amazing considering the asking price
If size doesn't worry you too much, you can use an OTG cable to a USB and then use Nexus Media Importer to view files.
Even if some users don't have headphones, it would be a better idea to charge them less so that they can CHOOSE which pair they like, or if they have headphones they end up saving money. As for getting used to "a new year" that normally takes a day or two.
Best nexus review. Subscribed))
I posted another comment, but don't know if it went through, so I'll try to paraphrase what I said this morning:
Apparently you don't understand what it means for a phone to be subsidized. You're not paying less for it, you're just paying less up front. You will be locked into a contract and forced to pay even more than the original 600 odd dollars that the iPhone costs up front. Whereas, with the Nexus 4, you pay the whole ~350$ up front then use an inexpensive prepaid plan; spending way less.
just subscribed because of this unboxing
You answered your own question. When you log into your Google account the apps automatically install. I did notice however that ALOT of them required updates when going into the 4.2 JB Nexus.
Thank you... u r clear & comprehensive
The widgets can be resized once you add them, you don't have to lock then unlock. There's no bug there...
although it's 2015 now but it is still my dream phone :-)
Chief Yolo get it then dude 😑😄
Chief Yolo DO NOT get this phone on android lollipop
Chief Yolo I'm using one rn
Another Awesome Unboxing!!!
Between S3 and Nexus 4; pretty much depends on whether you want stock android or Samsung's version.
Great Video As Always Keep Up The Good Work:)
Honestly, it's one of the best Nexus 4 unboxing/review videos I've seen, if not the best. Keep up a good work! :)
Watching from pixel device...modern nexus. Still at those launches of nexus devices was something else which is missing in latest innovations
@MinisterMenace I wouldn't say that a removable battery is a standard. You get a more "premium" feel usually when the back is sealed off from being opened. I think thst Item
Great review! You have all those great phones, Mike. Which one by far is your favorite one? Please respond (=
just love this phone more with android 4.3 !!!!!!!!!!
This is an awesome phone can't decide if i want this or the iPhone 5
Well it works exactly how you explained it.
Feel free to look it up, but after November 08 2012 the phones became cheaper than their initial price. And by cheaper I mean they became $200 cheaper off contract. And that is iphone 5 I am talking about.
Updates in the operating system, which is Android. Since the phone is made by Google, then it will get the updates (and the new features that come with them) as soon as they are released. :)
Perfect unboxing and demo for Perfect mobile ....
I am just waiting this video for a long time , And you just give us 10 minutes not even 20 ohh , That's disappointed , But thank you by the way, you are the best for technology stuff.
No, it's OK, I actually like the weight, makes it feel more sturdy
8:35 "Oooh, look at me with my phones!" Haha, seriously great video!
greetings from CHILE! big fan!!
Why did Google decide to put widgets on the lock screen that you have to swipe to see?! How did we get so far away from just waking up the phone, and then just swiping to unlock?!
You only use an apostrophe if you're using plurals for a letter or a number, or using a possessive form of a noun. So it's iPhones are xxx$, not iPhone's are xxx$. Unless if you're using "your". In that case, possessive "your" doesn't use an apostrophe. "You're" means "you are".
I'm an Apple user and this phone makes me want to switch :| Awesome video Mike! :D
nice collection u have there buddy
Sorry if I sounded mean, but I really wasn't trying to be. Right now I am using my nexus 4 with a pair of black skullcandy headphones, and everything works well (even the in line controls on the headphones). What I would have wanted to see included with my nexus 4 would be the wireless charging orb, that would be useful.
Great unboxing as always mate! I am really concerned with the battery time on this one. I have now seen countless videos of the Nexus 4, and they all say 69 % battery left. Is that a coincedence? :S
Yeah it's the new technology that they use on the digitizer lcd array---it's on iPhone and more recent phones
I'm with you man.
I have to lol at what Sam said. "[iPhones] are more affordable".
Which phone can you buy for 300$ unlocked, off contract? Definitely not the iPhone.
