The Orient Kamasu was a runner-up in a previous Lume Wars episode. In many ways, at least for me, Orient is THE affordable watch brand. You simply can't go wrong with it.
Orient’s are also very comfortable to wear. Even if they’re not the best specs, they’re always enjoyable.
Love my red Kamasu, it punches way above its price level. I have a beautiful Omega Speedy as well and the Kamasu still manages to look pretty great next to a watch thats 50x its price.
I wear my Kamasu on a 20mm strap. Looks better than 22mm.
I love my Kamasu, but I wish it had the same moddability as a Seiko 5 line

This was the best lume wars yet..that prototype namika was pulling all of their pants down....for blue lume it was ridiculous..I wonder if lume varies much on the same model of a watch, for example I've had 2 seiko turtles roughly the same age and I swear one glows longer and brighter.
You know it's going to be a good one when the kazoo makes an appearance.

Just found these Lume Wars even though I been subscribed a while now. Love this!
I have a quite recent buy on my wrist. Not expensive, not dirt cheap. It's a Rotary Henley GMT (quartz). It lasts all night here in Sweden in December, eventhough I wish that the hour and minute hand was a tad brighter. Indices are better.

After suffering through the very cool looking but very short lasting lume on my RZE Resolute full lumed dial, I would not even want another one. Either go full negative or pump the hands with lume. I can't wait to see how the Namica version with painted indices does. This Namica is bonkers!

Love it! My son loves lumed watches too - guess he's hooked! My Steeldive seems to have better lume than the Orient I have (guess I need to buy more for comparison!)

Alright Jody , hope you and the wife are doing great and getting enough sleep 💤😁 ….. got a San Martin full lumed dial last week, it’s really nice - think it’s normally £150 , picked mine up from eBay for under £100 , automatic with a fully lumed dial and a decent bracelet, can’t complain
I love these lume wars! And I'm a fan of Orient, having 3 in my collection. It's hard to find better value.

I have that Orient Star and it really is an excellent watch.
The best thing about a power reserve is it shows you that you do not need to stem wind an automatic beyond getting it started.

I have many watches and from what I can see is that my SINN 104 lume is the longest lasting by a large margin. It may not be the brightest at the start but its my only watch that will last till morning.

Lume Lesson 101.... it is a feature of field watches designed for military use as wristwatches were smaller than pocket watches and going from light outside to the darkness of the trenches made it difficult to see the hands. Lume made them visible until the eyes could adjust to the different light conditions. Never intended as night vision or as a long time thing only intended for the first minute or so. Dive watches have similar advantage but they came later and more marketing than useful... anyway lume is not important practically for more than 5 min max so anything you can see for that long is a winner. Love the BB58!
Hi Jody love the lume wars episodes I have Tudors, Tag's, Seiko's but the one watch in my collection is the Bulova Sea King it has the best lume of all my watches ⌚ don't know if you have done a review on this watch but the lume is phenomenal
Recently I bought the zelos white shark full lume. This watch last several hours with good lume. Must be a good watch for lume wars.
Never seen amy watch beat the Deep Blue Nato, or juggernaut, etc. They all have very bright and long lasting lume.
Namica was impressive especially as a proto. Some microbrands don’t pay that much attention to application of their Lume
I prefer the Orient but only in the dark, i think the Namica looks better in daylight.
Love that Namika but it scratches the same itch as the Helm K for me, and Im still after one of those.

I am one of those people that wear a watch to bed, so I have lots of opportunities to compare the lume on my watches. I have this Orient Star Diver, plus five Orient divers (2 Triton/Neptunes, Triton Lite RA-AC0K01B10B, Kamasu & Ray II). The Kamasu & Ray II, having smaller indices, do not quite match the larger Orients for lume. The Triton/Neptunes & Triton Lite have slightly better readability than the Orient Star when the lume is fading. This is due to having more differentiation between indices. My Bulova, Citizen and Islander divers have very good lume, but not quite up to the Orients’ level. What is surprising is the performance of the lume on my Glycine Combat Sub, considering the small size of its hands and indices.
Good call on the Orient. Nothing to say that thr prototype will be as good in production anyway,,,,

Is this the first lume wars with no Seiko? If you ever get your hands on a MM300 I would love to see it in a lume wars episode. From my (limited) understanding that is the king of Seiko’s lume. Still a great episode and glad to see an affordable watch win!
Lüm tech and Zelos. Seiko BFK and Tuna.
Best lume on the market? Timex's Indiglo. If you're not on a tight budget, then tritium is the second best. I've never found a light charged lume that is really worth a damn. They're pretty much all done within a couple hours or less. So between the time the sun goes down and it actually gets dark, you've pretty much lost all your lume on a light charged watch. Deep Blue sells a tritium flat tube which is very nice. I think they're around $200-$250.

I have a lum tec bullhead, it has fab lume, it should with a brand name Lum Tec.
