    I have a lot of respect for Kidada because she’s not out here doing interviews about Aaliyah and her personal life unlike Dame Dash and her uncle Barry Hankerson. When that Surviving RKelly documentary came out and his trial Dame and Aaliyah’s uncle was out here doing interviews running their mouth. I could tell that Kidada was a good friend to Aaliyah and she cherish their friendship. I give her props for keeping quiet and staying out the spot light and just living her life in private now.

      @@JazzellDope To be honest I never really liked him for her but she was happy with him so whatever. I didn’t agree with how he been moving all of a sudden he doing interviews talking about her & R Kelly’s situation because when Aaliyah was alive he didn’t say a word about it but now since the Surviving documentary came out you got so much to say. It makes me question his motives. Plus he just do weird things like how he said that Aaliyah told him R kelly is a bad guy and keep him tf away from me. (That don’t even sound like something Aaliyah would say) but when everybody questioned him about being in R Kelly’s fiesta video he said Aaliyah told him to be in the video. So he be doing a lot of lying .. that’s my issue with him.

    I find Rashida quite naive, possibly disingenuous about her passing. That girl has been a indie cinema darling for 2 decades, She played white, in each role including when She was involved in the financing and producing of the movie.
    Her character's parents were systematically white.
    To the point that journalist on the Oscar red carpet telling her She looked healthy because She was tanned and Rashida had to correct her.
    Even then She said She was "ethnic", whatever TF that means.
    Comparatively Megan Markhle, in Suits, was a nobody then, fought hard with the production and network to include her character being a biracial black women.
    Her dad is notorious misogynoirist in the industry, that's what Tupac had an issue with.

      EXACTLY

    • @TititoDeBologay
      @TititoDeBologay Před 2 lety +91

      @K Francis
      Rashida Jones reads "Eastern European" 😂. That's a new one. Please travel more or get in touch with other ethnicities on your side of the world.
      Not by any metrics ,She doesn't reads as East European, not by American nor by European standards. Here in Europe She'd read biracial or Southern European/Mediterranean.
      Even in Ukraine, where they have a lot of brunettes with brown eyes( think Mila Kunis or Olga Kurylenko) comparatively to other Slavic or Baltic countries, She would read as foreign.
      MY POINT wasn't about her private life. But about her passing privilege. She at least by omission, used It to navigate her industry, access both behind,in front the camera as well as the writing room. Then She made Pikachu's face when people were shocked She was biracial. In that respect I find her naive.
      We damn well know that if the roles were reversed, with the same talent and skills, Kidada wouldn't have the same career path in Cinema/TV BUT Rashida in Fashion, will definitely thrive the same, if not more.
      The different other famous types that you named actually claim &/or acknowledge their mixedness irl and in their craft, as well as the passing privilege and opportunities that It brought them in their respective line of work. Hell, Wentworth Miller established a mentoring network for p.o.c. aspiring writers because one of his sibling was discriminated against, while He was cruising his way to the top. Markle by lobbying to have her character as mixed, made that Wendell Pierce graced our eyes with his craft,his presence boosting the ratings even more with Gina Torres being signed as a permanent cast .
      The audience would be confused by a person being biracial, when are We? The 50's? If you like your cultural consumption of TV & Movies to be simplistic,with little brain engagement on your part, just say that and go on with your good self. There's plenty of simple TV and movies content to go about and enjoy.
      Wanting to be cast close to one's family background, makes for more and new storytelling, since the invention of Cinema, the human experience on screen has been predominantly white and has become, frankly stale.
      Right now all eyes are on South Korea, a country that the average person in the West, knows little about culturally, yet People, worldwide, enjoy their TV and movie output. Global audiences don't seem confused, do they?
      Wanting new and different faces, new and nuanced stories makes for a better movie industry. It has shown to be both profitable and enjoyed by the general public.

      @@AFOS94 As far as what the Old Testament says about what not to eat (shell fish), God actually cleansed all of the animals, so we can eat the once forbidden animals. This is mentioned in the New Testament. Moreover, the Bible also addresses how we are free from the old law and abide under grace now. Finally, all of us are imperfect and have sinned/do sin/will sin. Our sinful nature is precisely the reason why Jesus (who is perfect) came to shed his blood by sacrificing his life and was raised from the dead on the 3rd day...so that we can ask God for forgiveness and have a chance to repent from our sins (even daily). We all need Jesus, everyday. We are only made new creatures through faith in Jesus Christ (not by our own image or effort). So believing in Jesus Christ and understanding that we are saved by grace through faith alone... is the essence of our faith while repenting from sin in the name of Jesus is our lifestyle not a religious practice. Claiming to be perfect is not what being Christian entails. Only when Jesus returns will we be made righteous, sinless, and live forever in peace with God.

      LL grew up Christian, a believer (which is not the same as being "spiritual" as kidada was). To that end, LL knew that Kidada was into witchcraft and idolatry. Although he was tempted and joined in for a second (he was imperfect), he quickly separated himself from her. LL knew that they were unequally yoked: light and dark do not have anything in common/cannot hangout (paraphrased) according to the Bible.
      Jesus Christ is the [only] way, the truth, and the life.

    Thank you so much for doing this. It is so much I learned about Kidada in this video. She was always marching to her own beat. Everyone was wearing Tommy Hilfiger in the 90s in the streets in all the music videos. Thanks for clearing up the rumor about the brand that wasn’t true. She got to be around major music giants and influential people like Michael Jackson. I enjoyed this so much. Keep up the excellent through research on your topics.

    Kidada was so pretty. Its werid how times are still the same. Its sad how she went through colorism when she was little especially by her own family members. If I was her mother I would of called out my own parents about it and wouldn't let my parents see their grandkids anymore🤷🏾‍♀️. Her and sister should both be treated equally by both grandparents. But anyway she was dating everyone in the 90s 😆 🤣 but to me something is off with her vibe... I cant pinpoint it... Edit: I need a friend like Aaliyah 🥺😭❤ that was friendship goals that they had.

    The only reason she was an 'IT' girl was because of her father. Period. She didn't even make it in school and yes she had an eye for fashion but so did many others her age. She got her foot in the door at age 19 and was put in an impressionable position at her father's magazine 'Vibe' so what do you expect would happen? She doesn't impress me she was just born under the right parents and in the industry at the right time (launching of Tom. Hil.)
    Give me an IT girl who didn't have handouts please.

I wasn’t born in the 90s nor did I grow up during that time, so I don’t know who she was until this video, but it’s quite obvious she only got all these gigs and hung out with all those celebs bc she had a famous father and grew up in a wealthy family.
      Still that doesn’t completely undermine her success, bc she could’ve just carelessly spent her fathers money and done nothing, but she instead perused something that she loves !!
