Los Prisioneros became known because their music and especially their lyrics - which questioned various aspects of political and social events in Chile and the rest of Latin America - woke up and encouraged a generation of young people repressed by the military dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet who used some of these songs in their protests against the regime. For this reason, Los Prisioneros were censored by some of the main media in their country until the end of the dictatorship, transforming the group into one of the most important Chilean and Latin American rock bands .Their vocalist is Jorge González
