Photos look great. I haven't been a fan of Samsung for a very long time, but I must admit they're killing it right now.
A7 2018 has better cameras
Yeet. I'm actually a Nokia fan, and I never really appreciated samsung (at least in the mid-range segment). But yeah, because of this, I think I'm having a change of mind.
And I'm starting to lose faith in nokia.

Just got mine also. Only thing I do not like or just haven't figured it out yet is, when I'm not using my phone and text messages come in my screen turns bbn on everytime!!!! How do I disable the screen turning on for incoming text?
Great to see that samsung is slowly changing up their plan for their lower- mid range models first by dropping their awful J-series. A FHD+ super amoled and wide angle lens isn't something you'd expect for a $300 device.

@@pookiebeeboy7594 used to have a j7 prime to replace an s5(2017) and initially i liked it cause the battery life was great, fairly tough but over time ewwww. This was before i knew much about phones.
Yeah. I got a j8 less then a year ago. Already its microphone doesnt work. I think they have stopped making j series.
@@ahmedaiman5258 samsung announced they dropped the j series in favor of their higher budget/mid ranger-ish A-series like a30/a50/70 that were recently released. Too bad none of these made it to the U.S

Did you know: you can record 4K in this phone but you need to install a third party app, like OpenCamera app but you need to do it manually in the settings❤️

yes you can also do it with the google pixel camera app. there are tutorials online, as you know :) its one point where samsung failed in this category with the A50.

Great video! But just a suggestion: when you're showing the camera maybe you could show more pics of locations (indoors with different lightings like yellow/white bulbs, etc) and same with the front camera. Maybe more selfies in different lightings, indoors and such as? Otherwise great work 👍

I bought it its wonderful 🙂 Honestly it has all that you need for the third of the price for S10. Brightness exellent (I hold it on 40% and you can clearly see). Dolby atmos great option for headphones loud great sound and battery life woooooow 🙂 Smart choice 🙂
How does it act with games. Don't play major graphic games. Just stuff like kingdom hearts Union x, merge dragons. And alien shooters?

@@jamesmunster2292 I'm a med -heavy user. And I get a full day. But I try to tell my myself to take a break. Once i looked at the SOT and on regular optimizated battery I got four and half hours. But i thin i get better now. Had it a bit over two weeks. Really like it :)
I think I'll get this one. I love the S series but I got many hobbies an expensive phone is the last thing in my mind.

A 5000 Geekbench multicore score is a BUDGET PHONE...while 2 years ago this was a FLAGSHIP...

Multicore scores are pretty much useless in phones as you often use an app at a time, you should focus on single core performance
@@markgbedey741 Some apps can use multiple cores so no they're not useless.
PrefiX it might not be completely useless but most apps are coded to only take advantage of a single core, so I don’t really know what app you’re talking about but most apps like social media apps, games and utilities often can’t take advantage of the other cores

Here in the Philippines this has 6Gb of RAM and 128Gb of system memory, and it’s plenty fast enough. They also did an update to the camera and finger print sensor in May and it’s improved both quite a lot. Low light shots are much better now.

Nick, you're using the European variant which needs an adapter and lacs LTE service in the States. The South American variant is the one to get if you want to get LTE in the States and comes with a u.s type plug, no adopter necessary!

As of about a week ago from this post. The A50 is now sold from Samsung unlocked and you can trade in older phones. I now have on after waiting what felt like forever.

this is a great mid range phone. got this for my pops and he loves it. Very S10 like for a fraction of the price.

I'm getting my mom and dad on my phone plan tomorrow and upgrading both their phones. I am upgrading and getting myself and my mother an iPhone 11, but my dad doesn't really use his phone for much other than watching CZcams and for facebook, this is the one I was looking at for him, and I think I've made the right choice. :D

I have had mine for a week and love this phone. Works great on the Tmobile network. I upgraded from a Moto E5 plus. The only drawback I can find is the fingerprint sensor, it doesn't work very well. I purchased my unlocked version from Amazon for $264.00 and worth every penny of it.

I have one of these I use for work and I find myself using it more often than I do my personal phone which would be my iPhone 8
My decision was between the iphone 8 and Samsung A50 because they were the same price on sale at Verizon I ended up choosing the A50 for the display because the Iphone 8 is 2yrs old the specs are similar in performance so in a few days I'm getting an A50
This is my next phone for sure. I was not sure if buying an iPhone or this one, but this definitely will be the one.

With this review and others, I was impressed enough to order one for my wife when her Galaxy S3 started randomly rebooting. I ordered it through Samsung because they will sell you the phone for $250 if you have an uncracked-screen phone to trade in.
Great review Nick, but those missing LTE bands is a deal breaker. I guess Samsung doesn't include them for fear the A series would pull many away from the profitable S series. It's a shame that markets overseas seem to get a better offering of phones. The A90 is definitely an S series killer.
