I thank you all at GoHunt for lowering those hurdles and putting countless hours in so those of us who either aspire to or are already into Western Big Game hunting. The amount of information at one's fingertips is mindblowing, but also easy to follow and use. I have been enjoying playing around with Filtering 2.0, reading some strategy articles, unit profiles and so on during my 30 day Free Trial, sadly it will end on the 1st of August. But I will be signing up for a fact later this year to get ready for the 2020 application seasons. My brother and hopefully my Dad and I will doing a mule deer and black bear OTC hunt in Idaho in October (so I have to use that $ for tags, travel cost and the .300 WSM I have on layaway), but for next year's plans I will definitely be geeking out on GoHunt and really diving in.
My cousins and their Dad were planning on doing 2nd or 3rd rifle elk, but to not punish their Dad with those steep Colorado mountains they changed plans recently to go after pronghorn in Wyoming. With me having a heart condition that would be easier on my Dad and I as well. I was trying to find a unit or units close that would offer mule deer and pronghorn at the same time (preferably rifle, but archery would be a fun challenge too) for new hunters with 0-1 point, I plan on buying preference points in Wyoming. I doubt that their seasons with the same weapon would coincide, but I will check on your site and in the Wyoming regulations and season dates which obviously is on your site as well. Thanks again for all you do for the hunting and outdoor community.

This hunt has been on my list for quite some time. This tool definitely looks helpful, especially seeing I live out of state and I will have to hunt while I scout. This an onX maps give me the confidence to put my dream into motion. Thank you for this video because I would never have known this existed. I do find it weird how there are only 13 comments here!

Just curious. It appears you are showing residence only instead of non-resident. Doesn't it change quite a bit? Are there plenty of OTC for Non-resident? Or does that not matter in the filters settings?

OTC units are the exact same for both residents and non-residents.

      Happy to help you out.
A certification is required for a nonresident student that is attending a Montana college full time (12 or more credits) and those discounted licenses are available at any FWP office after September 10 (page 10 of the regulations). According to page 21 of the regulations, you can pick one up after the second Monday in September at any FWP Regional office or FWP Headquarters in Helena. This discount also applies to a nonresident full-time students in another state who graduated from a Montana high school and their parent is a Montana resident.
To qualify for this license you will need:
      - to present a valid student identification card
      - copy of paid tuition as a current full-time enrollment at a post-secondary education institution in Montana
      The costs are as follows:
      Big game combination = $545.00
      Elk combination = $465.00
      Deer combination = $332.00
Here is the number you can call for further information: 406-444-2950
      Thanks
      Brady
