For Ono to beat big people he needs to have a formless Judo. A Judo were he can beat his opponent regardless of what grip he gets(and still can use his grip well and throw well judo) . Armpit grip is not a grip were you can use a Uchimata with which you can beat people bigger than yourself. He needs to make extensive studing of different grips and how it translates to his techniques. The late Kimura(the greatest judo of all time) did this. And I expect the same of Ono.

@@handlesonjass Not very complicated. Ono already has a double slaeve Uchimata. Standart grip Uchimata. Lately he realy improved his armpit grip Uchimata. But that Uchimata is not good to beat bigger people(it's harder to rotate Uke). That is why in this all Japan the one reliable technique he could use against his opponents was Osoto otoshi. Personally the all Japan 2014 were he attacked from different grips was much more better even though he was much less experienced. Current rules makes it much harder for a small man to beat a big man. So he needs to make adjustments.

@@Versace117 not sure what is funny about this. You can do Kouchigari for example from different grips. The modern way of Kumi kata is to prevent that the opponent takes the grip that translates the best to his special techniques. If you have a technique for every grip (or even off the grip) your opponent is taking out of the equation. For me this is would be the most dominant judo style.
