The Crystal Ship - First ascent of Pumari Chhish East (6850m)

3 friends and un unclimbed summit at 6850m in Karakoram. A long wait due to bad weather and then an unexpected good weather window that allowed them to fulfill their dream.

In June 2022 Jerome Sullivan, Christophe Ogier and Victor Saucède travelled to the remote Hispar glacier in Pakistan to attempt the first ascent of the Pumari Chhish East (6850m). They succeeded through a new route that they called The Crystal Ship (M7, 6b, A2, 1600m), after 5 days on the wall.

Funny I climbed with these two guys and they go to Himalayas and named it after Doors song, William Blakes. They are hipsters ha ha. Congrat dudes. I did tell them Hispar is beautiful out there but I did not tell them about porter strikes.

Les mecs font une première à 6000m, sans casque, sans pieulet, avec presque aucun matos ça m'extermine le niveau qu'ils ont :')
Par contre on aurait aimé la descente :'( C'est jamais documenté :(
