Real Bargains Found at a Thrift Shop Haul, Antique Mall, Yard Sale and Auction by Dr. Lori

See the painting bought for $1 and resold for twenty one thousand dollars. It was even signed and titled. The thrift store simply missed it. These finds are at Goodwill, on eBay, Etsy and other online auctions and sales too. After watching a thrift with me video, watch expert Dr. Lori show you what your haul is really worth.
Dr. Lori also shows a pair of mid-century modern lamps made in Germany and a ceramic vase which was signed. Both are real bargains found during a thrift store shopping trip and a yard sale haul. Plus, don't miss a wooden marquetry piece found at an antique mall and a real bargain signed Russian lacquer box found when shopping at an auction. More than a plaque, watch to see a signed Bowers relief sculpture found at a thrift shop.

Hi again Dr. Lori my moms husband bought a vase and a couple tooth shaped, good size "rocks" from a yard sale. The vase is Emile Galle' signed with irises about 13" tall, oval, in his style. The rocks lol ended up being 2 dinosaur teeth!! What a haul for 10$!! I told mom about you and having the vase appraised and possibly insured. Thanks for teaching me what to do in this situation.

Dr Lori I went to my first Estate Sale today!!! Your training gave me the confidence to walk in there and know what was a good buy and what not to. I saw people grabbing stuff left and right indiscriminately and all I could do was laugh to myself. I like how this company had everything 50% off for the last day (unadvertised) and I even asked for a deal on several items. As always God bless you and your family and thanks for all you do!!! ❤

Dr. Lori, do you have any words or advice for those who are interested in the unlimited appraisals membership but debating if they should get it or not because they have too many objects and feel guilty for putting the workload on you or possibly debating the membership because they have items that they feel won’t be as valuable and maybe like it would be a waste of your time?
Currently, when you subscribe you can make as many submissions as you like. You won't know their value until you submit them for my review. That's what the service is for ... to get my expert eyes on your items. Maybe your pieces will be featured in an upcoming Real Bargains video with your permission of course :)
Yay!!! Now I know what this little bowl is that I found at goodwill for $2. It’s a lovely little marquetry bowl! It’s not super high quality but I just thought it was so pretty, I wasn’t going to leave it there. Hi Dr Lori, nice video, we're always learning. So I went to an (new to me) auction house last night, and came out with a box top of "Flow Blue", on piece has an 1/4" chip, other piece, to me looks great. Both pieces are like gravy bowls, with lids. I also got a box top of decanters, all with stoppers. I was wondering if you'd want any pictures to share, im not asking for an appraisal at the current time, but wanted to share. Thanks for your time.

Great video, thank you :) is the fact that the box had red lacquer on the inside and black lacquer on the outside mean it’s better quality or worth more?
That's not the only reason (red/black). You have to look for quality. I know everyone wants one answer that fits all, but finding valuables doesn't work that way. Pick a few types of pieces (lacquer boxes) and focus on knowing everything you can learn about them. Then, only shop for those pieces. You'll find bargains that way :)

Where do you sell items to get top price ?
Depends on the piece. People use my online appraisal reports to sell for top dollar. The reports include a location where a similar piece sold and for how much. One person use my report to help them sell a plate for over $1,000. They bought the plate at a yard sale for $1!
