We spoke to Mallory Lewis, the daughter of Lamb Chop's creator, Shari Lewis, about the history of the iconic character and the 'bad ass businesswoman' that was her mom.

I love this so much. Shari helped launch my career as a full time magician (and now prop fabricator and brander of entertainers). Over 4 decades in this industry now because of one bad-ass woman who looked through the TV and spoke to me. She is under-rated as an artist. I used to watch Captain Kangaroo 🦘 and I definitely remember lamb chop 🐑. It's neat to remember this.
Sharri was a brilliant puppeteer performer and a real class act. Beloved by millions of children. ...mid 50's into the 1990's. (!)

She’s just as beautiful and talented as her. Amazing mom! I watched Lambchops growing up with my mom and now I’ve watched it with my children & now my grandchildren!! One of my grandson’s favorite nap songs is the song that doesn’t end and believe me he doesn’t ever let it end until he’s asleep. He’s got it all figured out at 8 months old lol
I’m 68 years old and just came across this video. I loved Shari Lewis and all her puppets this brought a tear of joy to my eyes !!!!

I loved Lamb Chops as a kid and still love it as a 44 year old woman. Shari Lewis was the best! You go, Mallory! Imagine having Shari Lewis for a mom, she is one lucky lady.
Mallory is on Cameo. She does personal short videos (for a few). I got her & Lamb Chop to do one for my 31 year old daughter, who was rather I'll & going to have surgery. My daughter was immediately mesmerized & the look on her face seeing Lamb Chop in a video for her, wishing her all the best for her upcoming surgery, was precious!
I was born May 28, 1989 & my baby sister was born July 12, 1990, we are 14 months apart, my mom said that many doctors told her that if my sister & I were born any closer than that that we would be twins.
I was 9yrs old when Shari Lewis passed away, i cried like I had lost my bestfriend for a long time, I was blessed enough to meet her a handful of times as a child when I lived in Noho818, North Hollywood, CA, at The Shield when my sister, my grandmother[my mothers mom, rest in peace] & my mom would be shopping & I was always star struck & at a loss for words when she would speak to us.
So we USE to always refer to as one another as MY TWiN.
I do NOT speak to my mother or my sister anymore, they did some awful things to my father[who was/is my best friend in my entire world], my wife, my 3 children & myself.
My dad passed away March 5, 2021 & the 3 of our already dwindling relationship as mother, son & sister became so broken that NOTHING can fix it, i thank god for the good memories that I did share with them & I forgive them, but life goes on & I am BETTER without their negative, toxic, destructively harmful & hateful behavior, I pray for them always though.
My wife & 3[my 14yr old daughter, my 11yr old daughter & my 6yr old son] children are who I have & will always create NEW memories with.❤
My baby sister & I watched LAMB CHOP & Charlie Horse Music Pizza every morning at 3 am & 5am on the weekends & weekdays in California be a that was the ONLY times that both shows came on in the 90’s.

I Loved Shari & Lamb Chop, I watched during the 90s.
Suddenly, and without warning, my childhood as entered the chat.
The photo of Ms.Shari Lewis..who was seen in that photo at the start of this interview..That is not from"Captain Kangaroo"that was taken on the "Kartoonia"set of WPIX TV Ch.11 NYC's"Kartoon Klub"/"Shari & Her Friends"..and by this time..Ms.Lewis was no longer using"Samson"..she was using a new puppet character"Randy Rocket" with Ms.Taffy Twinkle".
The first time she brought up Lamb Chop and did her voice I cried 😭
I miss being a child largely because of lamb chop. I watched all the time. I cried when I found out Sheri passed. She is greatly missed.

I had a chance to see Sheri Lewis at the library in Branson Missouri but had to go to Springfield that day. I have always regretted not seeing her that day. She was amazing.

Ventriloquism is not an easy thing to do. Mallory is as skilled as her mother and amazingly recreates Lamb Chop’s “personality” and voice exactly.
