I worked as a medical assistant for many years and now I'm an allied health instructor. I am certified as a medical assistant through the AAMA. I got my associates, my bachelor's, and also got my credentials to be a teacher. I make about 60K a year... But I would tell people to just go to school to be an RN if you're able to because the pay is just better all around. I'm literally signing up for a fast track nursing program now... And I'm 36...I wish I would've just done nursing school. đ
What are the reasons you regret becoming a medical assistant?
A front desk/MA turned to me and said, "Go turn on the coffee pot." as if this was an every day normal duty. I was stupefied. I went and turned it on. It was a couple hours later that I noticed the lead doctor used the coffee maker to have a cup. (Single use that takes 1 minute to heat up....) but I guess the part that shocks me most is that she commands me to go to lunch, punch out at the end of the day and is not my boss and is nearly half my age.
Over worked, big time under paid, Barely any breaks if your lucky to eat, you are the slave literally. Almost EVERY clinic is like this. They donât follow working labour standards and get away with it for barely giving you a break to eat. Dental assistants NEED TO BE UNIONIZED so we legally get breaks and proper training.
BEEN A C.N.A. FOR 30 YRS...$49.00 AN HOUR NOT ONE REGRET AT ALL JUST CHING CHING TO THE BANK EVERY FRIDAY...
đđ When I noticed it was a loopđ

You guys should go for an MRI tech youâll love it and they pay 40 an hour and up
Iâm trying be respiratory therapist
Overworked and underpaid. Continuing education that you have to pay for to keep your credentials. All the yearly check offs for POC tests, phlebotomy, etc Mean/rude patients. Lol
tahhh , i was waiting đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
About to finish my 7-month program! And Iâm still loving it!
Iâve been at it for almost a year and Iâm so miserable. Overworked, underpaid, under appreciated. Doctors are so difficult to work with because they have this air about them. Patients are angry all the time. Patient messages are never taken properly, leaving the work for the back. I really want to leave but I donât know what to do nextâŠ
Truth is Noone gives a fuck. There's a brief moment where someone says something nice that gives them pleasure because they were nice but in all reality Noone gives a fuck. Everyone's focused more on their own issues to much to really care.
Low pay would do it for me. Fortunately the programs are super short so one can go to college for a better paying career.
im really struggling to pick what field i want to do. i have it between a pharmacy tech, egk tech, and a medical assistant.âčïž
I am a social worker and it's a tough job as well đą
