In the semi-rural areas of the New Territories in Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR, we also have a number of shore birds including : various species of Egrets, Plovers, Herons, White-breasted Waterhen, Grey Wagtail, White-Wagtail, as well as other birds like Black Kite, Greater Coucal along with other local b.
Fun video again, thank you. Can you please tell me which "Maison de la Nature" (there are quite a few in the area, I think) you saw the Moustached Warbler at? I've had only fleeting views of them in France (but seen them well in Israel and Spain) and it would be nice to see one when I go to a similar area as you in France tomorrow for a week. Incidentally, if you go back to that area again and want to see Collared Pratincoles and Purple Swamphens, then the long straight road (D779) that cuts between the Etang de Scamandre/Etang du Cray on the east and Etang du Charnier on the east is good for them. We had a lot of CPs hawking by the canal at the north end, just south of the town of Gallician, while Purple Swamphen was easy if the tide was low on the western (Etang du Charnier) side of that road. Plenty of other good stuff there too - lots of small and large birds to see. Apologies if I am posting for a second time on this subject/video, but I thought I had already sent a comment in but can't see it in the list yet.
By the way, there is a bird pretty similar to the Eurasian Hoopoe, which is the African Hoopoe. I didn't know about it till I saw a video about Namibia and noticed that the Hoopoe I was looking at seemed very similar but somehow a bit darker. In some views it's a subspecies but in others it's a full species in its own right.
Beautiful places, Beautiful Birds and Beautiful footage! And congrats on all your lifers of course! What a great trip!
Another great video, well worth staying up to watch. Thanks for your taking the time to upload them and what a lovely family you are!!

That terrapin looked like a red-eared slider. They’re turtles native to the south eastern United States and are introduced almost everywhere.
Red-eared Terrapin?? We had 2 rescues years ago.
The Swamphen is prolific in New Zealand where its called Pukaka.
