I dreaded doing this boss fight. Devastator or Menasor are crazy enough by themselves, but both of them at the same time? What the hell were you smoking, Platinum? Cause I want some of that stuff too.
In all seriousness, this is a badly designed fight, especially on higher difficulties, but man is it hype as fuck. I used an auto-repair and I feel no shame. And the game agrees with me because I still got an SS rank. Almost makes it worth for all the shit I had to put up with. Almost...
All footage was recorded at 1080p using MSI Afterburner with the MJPG Compression Codec.

Not really, Devastor looked just as big and menacing in the 1986 Movie when he destroyed the Autobot city and fought the Dinobots

Yeah lol. I think there's an in lore reason why they get bigger. Mass displacement, I think, but that's usually for Transformations (especially for Megatron who was a gun in IDW)

Man this moment was epic. I remember multiple times trying to just get to the combined Devastator part of the fight, and when you finally thought there was a light at the end of the tunnel....that was the headlights of the stunticons ready to join in on the curb stomp lol. Wish this was on the switch I'd totally replay it.

Man I swear this game is so good it needs a remaster with more DLC and characters or even multiplayer
Ideal TF game:
Aesthetics and visuals: Like WFC and FoC
Gameplay: third person shooting gameplay of WFC/FOC and hand to hand combat like Devestation and even fighting TITANS like Fortress Macimus and Trypticon as bosses. And maybe open world like the old ps2 game.
Added ideas: Customize and upgrade all characters' powers, abilities, and also play as both autobots and decepticons.
AND NOTHING TO DO WITH ACTIVISION
The only game that blends third person shooter with melee combat very well is Space Marine. I bet they can pull it off if by creators who had commitment on making it.

@@soundwave590 i can do commander difficulty in 3-4-5 hours speedrun. i grind and i got some cool weapons like the battle blades level 8 rank a/s
If you want cool weapons, i suggest you go to challenges and play until you unlock level 50. Then go to tech and invest in the 5000 credits one until you get atleast like a weapon rarity drop. Then put optimus prime as commander difficulty and shoot the insecticons down, and redo those until you cat a weapon thatll satisfy you.

This game is the bane of my existence. There was not one moment were I wasn't getting my ass handed to me by a boss. But it's still fun
Try to imagine if the story of the game was a little longer and they had included Onslaught and his Combaticons. Now, imagine this level with Devastator getting backed up by Menasor and Bruticus. If that happened I'd honest to God have a panic attack, especially on Prime mode since you are facing three combiners.
Imagine if Predaking and Abominus were included as well. You would have to fight *FIVE* combiners at the same time...

First time playing Devastation.
Me: *Gets Devastator's health down halfway.* I know he'll bring out his drills so why is there a cut- *Sees Menasor jump out.* Oh shiiiiiiiiit.
My playstyle in the game involves using one melee weapon and 3 ranged weapons. What everyone else's playstyle, and who's your fav character to use in the game?
2 melee weapons (menasors ionizer sword and star saber.) And two ranged weapons ( sniper rifle and rockets). My favorite character to use is sideswipe because of his rocket barrage and his leap ability. But yeah I hated when menasor teamed up with devastator.
Also 3 ranged weapons and 1 melee
1 melee, Dark Star Saber
3 ranged, Megatron's fusion cannon,
Ion Blaster, and Flame Missile Launcher
Favourite character, Nemesis Prime.
Bro, I use 2 Melee Weapons and 2 Ranged Weapons:
Melee: Star Saber and the great Forge Of Solus Prime (why a hammer and a sword?? Just to have some fun)
Ranged: A freaking OP Beam Laser, and a Assault Rifle (yeah, the normal one, don't ask me why)
Fav Caracter: Optimus Prime (and Nemesis Prime too, of course)

If only we could get a series or film that looks like this.
When I got to this chapter, I realised I hadn't used Bumble Bee in a while so I synthesised a couple weapons and went in. The entire chapter up to this point was difficult but the Devastator/ Menasor fight was...I was severely unprepared for it. As of right now, I'm still trying to beat it. In my last attempt, both Menasor and I had a tiny sliver of health left (I had magic pixel health. I couldn't transform, I couldn't dodge, nothing) and Idk if the dodge (I got back some health at this point) didn't register or what but he killed me. I thought it'd restart from after I defeated Devastator. The shock I was in when it started back from Menasor joining the fight made me almost scream.
Has anyone else noticed that some of Optimus Prime's moves in game resemble Senator Armstrong's? "Energon Son!"

Are you talking about this part at 2:44? For certain combos, there are different vehicle attack finishers. In this case, this is a burnout finisher. When executing, hold down the transform button to continue the burnout and maybe leave skidmarks on the decepticons.
You can also do a manual burnout without it being a finisher. While in the air, press and hold the transform button, to do a slam and if you catch a decepticon, you can continue to do a burnout on them.

I like how every other boss in the game just gets knocked out but Devastator and Menasor just fall off and die
But we don't know if they truly survive.
I’ll admit to you that this fight actually tempted me to use Power Boosters and Hard Coats
I beat it on prime by saving up items through the entire campaign just to use here.
Sometimes it took power boosters for me to get through some things on there. Like having to defend Wheeljack on Prime setting while he repairs something.

Nerdy Nachos I hear that all the time when I try to defend Wheeljack and Bumblebee in those challenge missions. I don't know how to do that on Prime setting. Its damn near impossible and tougher than the main game.

I love this game. And it looked like you had Prime coming down for a truck slam and burn out on the second R1 attack. How'd you do that?
Certain combos have different vehicle attack finishers. Some characters have 2 vehicle attacks (Bumblebee has on every combo). Optimus has 2 vehicle attacks on the longer combos with dual swords. There's actually a lot of thinking and consideration when playing this game on higher difficulties.

I remember fighting this guy on this game's medium mode and got my ass whooped 7 ways to Sunday, and might've actually taken 7 tries cuz the memory's foggy, but I wanna know is
How difficult in achieving no-hit status on Prime mode? I know it's possible, I've seen a guide going by donguri beat DMC4's secret Dante boss double'd and on a modded difficulty past the original hardest setting and learned to style all over the AI.
It's hard but definitely possible with enough practice and knowing how to react and read enemy tells.
I've actually have gotten better at Transformers Devastation since this video (not perfect, but I take considerably less damage, if at all sometimes)
At 3:39 when Optimus transformed into Bot form and did a vehicle attack how did he do the other combo after that I never seen that before. That was amazing
I've done that combo once before but never figured out how, if anyone else knows that would be great
I know this an old video but I just got Transformers Devastation and it's great and I'm stuck on commander mode. Also I want to say something funny, in a commentary playthrough of devastation that I saw once, this guy got to this fight and during the constructicon section, he asked if he was gonna have to fight Devastator, but he completely ignored the fact that Devastator's battle theme was playing during that section and that made me crack up so bad.😂🤣😂😂😂

I haven't seen anyone attempt a parry only challenge, where you can only parry enemies' attacks, seems challenging, but parries aren't as satisfying as other games but it definitely feels good

Hrm, doing a complete War for Cybertron, Fall of Cybertron, and Devastation hard run, in that order.
Currently on Magnus mode. For the life of me can't get past all six Constructions, despite maxing out stats. Think my weapons are only A class though, and never really figured out the projectile weapons like freezing or rusting, didn't have the patience to grind out weapons.
Maybe I should start from scratch and learn the basics over again.
