  • The McLaren 750S delivers crazy performance but how does it cope with a 2000-mile road trip to Monaco using some of the best driver's roads France has to offer plus is it a better driver's car than Ferrari's 296 GTB?

More I watch Harry’s videos, the more I realise he doesn’t make these videos for anything other than to share his enthusiasm and passion for cars and bikes. If you notice, Harry never says anything negative about the cars he tests.
It's all positive, if he started saying negative things like that idiotic looking screen in the middle, then Mclaren wouldn't lend him cars for these kind of tests.
It's same with all car testers on youtube these days, if they want to test cars, long term tests, they have to say only positive things about the car.
If they say something negative, they get blacklisted and aren't allowed to test their cars again.
One youtube revealed it all after VW banned him from testing their cars in the future, because he said he didn't like the way ID Buzz looked like.
he also mentioned how he has been flown out to car reveals in First class, stayed at 5 star hotels, trip costs over 50 000€ and it was all paid for by the car manufacturer.

The french love exotic cars. Years ago, we did a tour with a small group in the Vosges mountains. While approaching a detour around a small village due to a local festival happening in the main street, the local police man rerouting the traffic spotted us and told us to drive directly through the main venue stage. So we where part of the attraction and everybody had great fun, spectators and us.
Furthermore, people driving in front of you tend to indicate to the right side to give you way and let you overtake, giving you thumbs up.
The complete opposite to what you experience while travelling through Germany.

Yeah 720 is very tractable and highly refined at slow speeds. The breadth of its qualities is staggering compared to most of its peers.

I live just round the corner from John Welch's place in Church Crookham. I remember him repairing one of my crash damaged cars about 35 years ago, when he was driving those rallycross cars. I couldn't believe him when he told me how fast they accelerated - faster than an f1 car at the time I think?

Fantastic video, as always. Proper journey/test, awesome roads, spirited driving combined with the welcome, but honest, laid-back commentary. I love the UK, but having driven most of the roads in this video, France is right up there. You'd have as much fun in a sporty Mini as a McLaren, but as Harry loves his Lancia as much as anything, I suspect he might agree. Keep it up sir.
