Bunty, careful what you wish for in liberal and secular days. The people of India have chosen this bigoted, secluded and chaotic society in the recent years. The India of old is dead. Dilipsaab was my dad's favourite hero! I had never seen any of his movies. During my college days, Shahrukh was the biggest superstar. I had also seen the phenomenon called Amitabh Bachchan. So I kept arguing that these were the best. My dad didn't say anything. One day he came home with a DVD of Madhumati ❤️ this simple man is truly the doyen of Indian cinema.
I recommend you to watch SANGARSH ...Dilip Kumar infront of Sanjeev Kumar and you will realise how on screen demolition of Dilip kumar is done..after that Dilip shahib avoided Sanjeev Kumar in any on screen dual.

I heard the speech of Dilip Kumar Sb ( late ) and I endorse what Indra Ji expressed to the legendary actor. Bollywood with time became more westernized and influenced by Hollywood. The Indian film industry is no longer encouraging Indian culture but has become totally merged into Hollywood.
Whatever, the songs of Indian movies have made many citizens to understand a bit of Hindi. Hindi movies are also instilling knowledge of Hindi in citizens of non Hindi states of India. Hindi in coming decades will bind the country. Hindi language through Hindi movies is also well understood in Pakistan and many other neighbouring countries. Gradually the Indian culture will come to be known in a large part of Asia and this will bring an edge to India vis a vis China

Articles about why Indian film industry is behind Hollywood, articles about Indian actresses speaking their dialogues with English accents and not fluent in Hindi, article about Indian film stars dying to work in Hollywood and which ones have got roles in foreign films, etc. Just the names were different, but everything from the Indian filmy magazine of 1936 is exactly like it is today.

I want to say a big thank you to whoever posted this video. Such an informative and memorable speech by Dilip Kumar. Really it is so true that old is gold. In earlier cinema also there was talk of development, and now there is no talk of development in films, leave alone the art of films.
