In 1979 I got Gangsters by the specials I was a second generation skin:rude boy ! This guy in his forties said we were skins rude boys in the sixties have ever heard Desmond decker ! And all Trojan records ! I went to old record shop and brought all them ! Heard skinhead Moonstomp by the original jamacia black dudes ! So listening to this to brought tears of joy to my eyes of a 13ry old boy finding gold with this music ! Rock Steady was to me a cross over to the early skins and rude boys ! Rodigan is amazing !
All bless up Rodigan ! The spirit of reggae is in this man without a doubt ! We all are richer for him spreading the joy of Jamaican music to so many people through the years.
David "give me some Signal" Rodigan is a legend .right up there with DJ Derek. Used to listen to his roots rockers show on capitol 95.8 many years ago.
It is testimony to the beauty and power of reggae music, that it continues to entrance and inspire people from disparate locations and cultures to become reggae envangelists. David Rodigan's love of the music that has come out of Jamaica is undeniable, and he is arguably the top UK's top reggae evangelist. Great job!
Blessed Rodegan, I'Loving the Vibes, My fist Music Experience in the Dance Hall. Rocksteady. I fell in Love with Jamaican Music. Rock on Rodigan. Jah Love @ Protect. Princess Rose. XXX .
Rodigan where you get the format jingles & sound efx & intro to all the artist from yard ? the late great never mentioned MIKEY Dread, aka Michael Campbell, Original Dread at the Controls, revolutionary back to back Roots & Culture via radio JBC before Barry G, All Respect due to Mikey, only thru imigration bulshit did he mentor Rodigan to prosper for the sake of Reggae on the Radio, ask UB40 or The Clash if a lie me a tell !
Big man, did hear your right. Rodigan is the Henry Morgan if Reggae. If this is correct you clearly don't know the struggles Reggae went through in England to be played on Commercial Radio. David Rodigan played a pivatal role in exposing our culture to a wider audience. Rodigan is no Henry Morgan, him set the so artist can eventually and make money
You have no idea how much Sir David Rodigan has done for reggae music, especially here in England. He was the only DJ who played reggae music back in the 70's on main stream radio. Even in Jamaica back then you was hard pushed to hear reggae music on radio stations there, american soul and pop music was the music of the day. He is no Henry Morgan as far as I am concerned he has dedicated his life to the genre of music that he loves. On a lighter note he can't dance for toffee but you can't beat him when it comes to knowing reggae music, hence why he is respected by so many reggae artists and other DJ's.
Jan plumber lot of black dj would of wanted our music on the radio in the 70 but was not given the opportunity, but a white man was allowed to , so we must be thankful ? What radigan did back then black people could of done it even better cause he loves reggae but we feel reggae , stop going on like we had same equal right
Love his energy! So knowledge in his reggae selections. Your are the real selector, Mr Rodigan!
The real big man from England who helped promote and put Jamaican [OUR] music on the world map brethren. RESPECT EVERYTIME!!!💣👍🏾👊🏾👏🏾🇯🇲
This man was gifted to do this..just listen his introduction.just classical..
