Quick tip for waterproofs is....put a cheap plastic shopping/carrier bag on your foot before you stick it down the leg...should slip right through, then swap feet and repeat🏍️💨💨🏍️💨💨🏍️💨💨⚡👢💡👍
I am impressed how you are managing the riding/charging regime and it seems you have got into a great routine. I was a little worried that you may not find that many chargers up that part of Scotland because it sometimes difficult to find a fuel station but you nailed it 👍 I am in Scotland and this vid makes me want to jump on the big and head up north.

I'm a bit jealous of your motorcycle, I think electric driving must be beautiful. You have to drive alone because if you want to do a ride of +/-300km in a group, everyone has to wait when you have to recharge or everyone has to drive electrically. In any case, keep doing what you love and let us enjoy it. PS. I drive a kawasaki versys 1000 gt
No matter how you look at it or what opinion you have, EV (vehicles) are here to stay. The best way to no only help that happen, but to also help reduce the manufacturing 'cloud' around them, is to support them... buy one, hire one or borrow one. There are also opportunities to be part of this new industry - new businesses and ever developing technology. It's exciting and there's nothing more fun than something that goes fast!
@Peter Alexander I also drove Hyster electric fork-trucks (AKA forklifts) in the late eighties. No, electric vehicles are not new at all. They were around in the late 1800s. The problem was that they relied on simple lead-acid battery technology, which was the same as the fork trucks up to the 1990s and later. Battery technology is moving at a faster rate than efficiencies can be achieved with fuel powered vehicles. If you have ever been for a ride in a Tesla, you'll realise the balance has now shifted.
@Peter Alexander the battery warranty is 5 years/unlimited mileage, if you ride 1 years, each day 300 km, that makes 100,000 km,. Some riders like Daniel Montero have done 160,000 km on their Zero

It is a real pity you didn't get the full awesome effect , ie sunshine on that section you have just ridden 😱 but fingers are crossed your next section is sunny . As you are approaching all the good stuff on the west side 👌👍 don't forget applecross and the pass of the cattle , and of course visiting the isle of Skye is a must do ... Can't wait till you get to the lake District .. just hope the weather picks up for you ... Think we are getting the tail end of americas hurricane Ian ...
Great episode as always! I love your positive attitude. The charging while camping and overnight stays highlights an important part of e-motorcycling: Assuming you're not primitive camping, you always start with a full battery and you can roll in at the end of the day with an empty battery. So that means you only need to charge for the times in between. Here in the US, even many state and national park campgrounds have at least low power plugs to charge slowly overnight. PS: You've inspired me to buy a drone. Going on my Zero to pick it up today.

The one thing I hate is the price. If only they were £6k instead of £20k? It makes the money saving argument redundant for a 50mph touring bike. Each to their own, I wouldn't buy a Harley for more reasons than I wouldn't buy an EV.

The electric motor can anything better than the petrol engine. For sure, we have to talk about the batterie and charging. Go on. I love to ride my Zero every day.
Is that Scourie campsite Marc? We were there from Ireland a few weeks ago on our ICE motorcycles. Absolutely fabulous roads and scenery around there. Don't forget to call in to Ullapool for some lovely fish and chips.

North west Scotland at anytime of year and the weather can change in three minutes, but it’s still extremely beautiful and the scenery and roads on the western side of the route are fantastic. Just make sure that you don’t miss the Applecross peninsular and the road over Bealach na’ ba 😉

It amazes me how great your content and editing is, I record my rides but it takes me so long to edit any footage together it’s usually weeks after the rides before I have anything done. Enjoy the NC500 Marc..can recommend Clachtoll beach campsite which has a short path to a beautiful bay. And take the Torridon to Applecross route for an epic road with stunning views.
Was glad to see that you did not say "I want an electric bike to save the environment". The current technology for manufacturing battery powered vehicles is very inefficient and dangerous, but we have hope and Humans will definately perfect it. Nothing can be achieved without sacrifice and failure, i believe it is that stage in its development. Anyways love your videos brother.
@@marsrover001 Thanks, I saw the video and it's very informative, but what it did not factor in is how is the lithium extracted from the ground. If you look it up you will see how inhumane is the extraction process and how much it effects the health of the workers especially children that work in the mines. That is what I was refering to the most.
@@adilmir3967 my guy do you think fracking, drilling, transportation of oil, refining oil, are “humane”. Electric isn’t perfect but assuming people drive a bit it’s clearly a winner, and the worthy investment. Of course not the only solution but you have to start somewhere.
I don't mind riding in the rain but all these charge stations dont have shelter. That would annoy me. I wouldn't want to just stand there while it rained.
Another great video, travelled those roads myself in the summer this year. Great to see you can really use an electric bike to travel on. Like you, l still get frustrated at charge points that don’t work when I’m in my EV, but it is improving here in the UK, but not so much in rural locations.

Loving the content Marc, having done the NC500 earlier this year, all I can say is your jaw will be permanently dropped with the views you are going to see... take care though the roads can be challenging at times with copius amounts of gravel and hidden dips and of course if your route takes you the famous Bealach na Bà
