The Onana disrespect is crazy. In the Champions League, granted he cost United at times. But in the league, only Sheffield United have had more shots conceded yet Onana is in the race for golden glove with a very high save percentage too. The guys a top keeper thats becoming underrated and over hated
A couple of things from both perspectives.
1. Onana does have a very high save % and has been much better in the league since the start of 2024 without much acknowledgement from a lot people.
2. Shots conceded by itself is irrelevant. The more pertinent stats are shots on target faced and xg faced - both of which United are 8th in rather than 2nd (which is still too high for a club like United to be allowed, granted). Also, Onana is more likely to be in the running for the golden glove because some other keepers have played less matches than him. For example, Arsenal and Liverpool haven't had 1 goalkeeper play all 28 matches in the league like United have.

Arsenal is indeed in a title race, but we’re still considered underdogs. While Spurs fans may criticize Arsenal, United fans should refrain from doing so. It’s ironic for United fans to label Arsenal supporters as delusional. Your assessment of the Porto game is valid, Arsenal could have performed better. However, facing any team in the Champions League is challenging, especially at this stage. Criticism towards United isn’t necessary, their performance speaks for itself. The negativity towards Arsenal is amusing, perhaps it’s time to shift focus and appreciate the current Arsenal team. AFTV may represent a vocal minority, most Arsenal fans are rational and simply enjoying the team’s current form.

No one has mentioned that Porto have the best defensive record in their league, they have conceded 17 goals in 25 games. Arsenal were obviously going to struggle

@@em_si obviously not but im going into fine details on a youtube comment mate i have OpTa and scout pro for that , united have faced the 2nd highest amount of shots and the 3rd highest percentile of high chance XG shots so that would tell you two things 1. Our defence concedes to many shots of all % chances and 2. Our goal keeper is very good he on average faces 11.9 more shots on his goal per 90 than de gea had to and we wonder why he’s looked worse off .. 👀 the goal keeper is not the problem the defending in transition is and having a midfield that get bypassed so easily the gap between defenders and midfielders is insane i play lower league football myself and my manager wouldn’t stand for it so i don’t know how ETH isn’t sorting it out on the training ground its confusing.

We're also 3rd lowest in the league for % of shots faced actually being on target which is why I don't consider it legitimate to word it as "Onana has faced x amount of shots" when most are blocked or off target.
Your stat about De Gea is incorrect. After 28 PL matches this season, United have faced an average of 16.6 shots per game. After 28 PL matches last season, United faced an average of 12.8 shots per game - a difference of 3.8 not 11.9.
